That guy is a hardworker ^_^

He's amazing I tell you that, I don't think Bioware's walk toggle (which they are still currently struggling with WTF?!) is going to beat this lol

Well right now I have Ctrl for walk enabled, Shift and Alt keys also binded to disable it - so instead of a toggle I now have full precise control.

Shift is also default for hold walk, and Alt is my horse sprint key so hence both keys I set to disable the auto walk.

I tried the jogging but I think I'm happy with just walk and run. Still if I really wanted to, I would bind jogging to Z and running to Alt (which is also my horse sprint key)

I can't seem to get "hold Shift to walk" working? I'm using the script with all its default bindings after downloading, but Shift does nothing?!

I want to bind the toggle to Q (easy enough) and then use Caps Lock to Hold for Walk. Can I do this? Any ideas on how to change the Shift binding?

I also tried reading the "How to" in the script, but I'll be damned if I know how to get it open!

[Edit]

OK, so I am using Q as my toggle and I set the Walk speed from 0.5 to 0.8 which means I now toggle between jogging and running.

This works fine.

Holding Shift also results in walking, BUT when releasing Shift, it reverts back to running if I was jogging before holding Shift. I also have to tap my toggle key twice for it to work again.

I hope the awesome guy who wrote the script sees this...

- Your CE window should look like this:

2mm8uc7.jpg

I.E. Make sure the hold key script is turned on

- As for changing the binding for the hold key, select the hold key script and press Ctrl-Alt-L, then find this:

---- Configuration ----

-- Timer intervall forthe periodical check of the mod key state
MovementControl.timerIntervalMillis = 200
-- Modifier hotkey for walking mode: virtual key code
-- (see http://msdn.microsof...(v=vs.85).aspx)
MovementControl.walkingKey = VK_SHIFT

- Anyway the modder 2flower is open to suggestions, I already made an account on the CE forum too.

Seems he did see the problem and already made a hotfix :

http://forum.cheaten...bd9a33e624e0bee

Just fired my entire QA staff icon_wink.gif
Lua script problem should be fixed, updated v3 with "hotfix1". As usual, see page 18/eighteen for the update.

Your suggestions regarding the control scheme seem quite reasonable. Haven't played Skyrim in ages, so I forgot... Will look into that...

Download it again (page18) and see if it works.

I'm using as of this very moment (version 3 with hotfix)

All functions work, jog/run, hold, and toggle. You can even change the toggle to be enabled/disabled using hotkeys which I have done personally for a smooth experience. It's a great mod thus far - and very stable. Highly recommended.

I'm still going to wait to purchase the game; I'll pay Bioware/EA for it just as soon as they implement this obvious 'feature'.  :-)

As a person who likes to keep his gaming as immersive as possible, having a toggle vs a hold key to walk is ideal.  On top of that, this jog speed is a lot more believable a pace rather than the full-tilt sprinting through stretches of countryside it's defaulted to.

I have a feeling I'm going to prefer this hack over any official implementation.

Well, now that they've seen what can be done, I'm hoping they do the official fix this way and give the PC crowd walk/jog/sprint ability.

Although -- I suspect EA has told Bioware to have a DLC pack ready in the first quarter of 2015, so they may have had to pull people off patching and put them on DLC duty.

It's all about the Benjamins, and consoles rule.  :-(

Yes, but it *is* a very lean program.  And no "Express Install (recommended): Installs the main program, Bing Bar, Google search, Ask! recipe organizer, Real Media juke box and disco ball app, XFiles ad organizer and garden gnome catalog companion, Sketchy Weather browser ad-on."

**** that. This is the last DLC they get from me after all the bullshit and hype. If they want me money, they have to fix this broken game.

Agreed !!! Game developers should understand that immersion for an RPG is the most important thing. Even if this is something that doesn't seem critical, it is because for those few hours we have the chance to play the game we want to feel that we are actualy there. Always running kind of ruins that feeling. So.. please insert a walk function in the next update.

Don't know if it's been mentioned already, but version 5 of the Walk toggle mod is out and it is great! Much more responsive than previous versions:

I'm currently struggling a bit with that one, that's why I haven't updated my own topic about the walking mod. It doesn't seem to memorize set max speed settings like v3h and v4 did. And the instructions on how to setup hotkeys for the two different script options - I guess this is mandatory for it to work properly? Seems really overcomplicated imho. In my honest opinion, simplicity should be the goal, so that many can and will use it.

Maybe someone can share their ideas about the new version and how to configure it properly...

I've not even tried configuring it - using it in its vanilla state: Caps Lock to toggle walk/run, hold Shift to Walk, X to swap between jog and run.

I think with this CE tool and the nature of the scripting, it may be tricky to "simplify" it.

But version 5 is definitely a good step forward in terms of triggering your walk/run. It never misses like the previous versions.

I can't walk, but also I can't sprint...oh, s......., s....... bioware employees...What is most fun, AI of my party members allow them to SPRINT, I saw this a couple of times. I mean, Cassandra can sprint, but not me, when I control her.
