This is also mandatory for me, otherwise I will not be able to enjoy or even to play this game.

And no, buying a controller is no option for me. This game was released for PC, therefore also the classic PC controls (keyboard and mouse) should be supported 100%.

For anyone who missed it. Not much was said, or even if walk toggle is one of the things they're looking at, but at least its an update :P.

I'm hopeful a Walk Toggle will be among the fixes in the first few patches.

Let us hope so!

Yeah, being able to walk is pretty much essential for me. I even tried playing with a controller for a few days, but...ugh.

Hehe, the Dowager Countess is absolutely correct (as usual).

Maybe there's no need to thank you, but I want to. You linked to Allan's answer in the PC Community Concerns thread (which I would have surely missed otherwise) and you keep posting pictures and gifs that improve my day (the cookie monster with Newton's cradle, awesome!)

Anyway, back to the topic: Still really excited about the prospect of a walk toggle in the patch! I hope I'm not getting my hopes up in vain, but I can't help it.

What would the internet be like, if there were no cats? Maybe there wouldn't even be an internet if there were no cats. *g* Anyway, cute cat, thanks. :)

Not to mention that being able to walk would make you less prone to cliff falling.
My inquisitor is so dumb. When I asked him to turn back he would fist run forward a bit, like he was some kind of horse.

+1

and really it should be:

Walk    ...on key press / toggleable

Jog      ...default speed

Sprint  ...on key press only (with penalties over time +/or max duration)

At the moment I have to jog everywhere like Mo Farah.

Approaching NPCs for dialogue is pretty immersion-breaking at the moment as you attempt to line up a nice relationship for the anticipated camera-swing-to-dialogue; smashing right into them and/or running backwards and forwards like you're having a fit, often just giving up in the end... if it were not so sad, it'd be funny.

Also, what's the point of using one of the largest and most convenient utility keys (Shift) to action a sprint that, um, doesn't... unless you're on a horse (which is actually quite a nice animation). So sprint, errr, isn't. It's gallop.

The ability to Walk is essential really; for immersion (this is an RPG, right?), to appreciate the environment in a less frantic way, to finesse your movement through tricky terrain, whatever.

Sprint would be good; for emergencies (limited +/or with penatlies), a familiar option for most gamers.

*sigh*

There is so much good stuff in this game; so much beauty, scope and content; great story-telling and soundtrack; so much to love.

I want to be in love with it... but it's playing hard to get.

Shame about the PC-port of a controller-focussed game development. Oh no wait, this was designed for PC wasn't it?...

I improved someone's day! I feel fierce.

I didn't know you could fall off of things in this game. That's a bit terrifying. I am going to fall off everything.

Zero. I'd like to know if I have to wait for a week or a month because seriously, if it's the latter I will stop playing and wait. Literally every step I currently take while forced to run everywhere feels like a wasted step, one that could be more immersive or even non.immersion-breaking (running in small rooms) which would be really great.

Haha I know that feeling.

On the bright side, if this does make it into the patch...at least my second playthrough will be better than my first!

I agree with this, it was a huge shock for me to find out there was no way of walking on KB/M in DAI, when DAO, DA2 and the ME games all had the toggle run/walk

Adding my concern for this as well. It was quite perplexing to try and understand how such a fundamental feature was overlooked. We need a run/walk toggle as soon as possible, please.

This feature is an absolute necessity and I expect this to be implemented in early patches because quite frankly it's ruining the immersion for me

Why was this left out of the game? Why? Just why?
