+1
and really it should be:
Walk ...on key press / toggleable
Jog ...default speed
Sprint ...on key press only (with penalties over time +/or max duration)
At the moment I have to jog everywhere like Mo Farah.
Approaching NPCs for dialogue is pretty immersion-breaking at the moment as you attempt to line up a nice relationship for the anticipated camera-swing-to-dialogue; smashing right into them and/or running backwards and forwards like you're having a fit, often just giving up in the end... if it were not so sad, it'd be funny.
Also, what's the point of using one of the largest and most convenient utility keys (Shift) to action a sprint that, um, doesn't... unless you're on a horse (which is actually quite a nice animation). So sprint, errr, isn't. It's gallop.
The ability to Walk is essential really; for immersion (this is an RPG, right?), to appreciate the environment in a less frantic way, to finesse your movement through tricky terrain, whatever.
Sprint would be good; for emergencies (limited +/or with penatlies), a familiar option for most gamers.
*sigh*
There is so much good stuff in this game; so much beauty, scope and content; great story-telling and soundtrack; so much to love.
I want to be in love with it... but it's playing hard to get.
Shame about the PC-port of a controller-focussed game development. Oh no wait, this was designed for PC wasn't it?...
