Is using a VPN illegal or a breach of Origin's ToS in the UK? I'm pre-loading now and tempted to use a VPN, but it isn't worth it if I'm in breach of a law or the ToS.

As far as I can see there's nothing in the Origin EULA that prohibits using a VPN for early unlock.

Ok, so I used a VPN but I'm having trouble connecting to the DA servers. So I can't use my save from the keep. Any help?

Once you launch the game you can disconnect from the VPN and you're set to go 
You'll just need to use a VPN to launch the game before 00:00 of the 20th.
