Fun fact: The pistol "Melee Stunner" mod will allow you to bypass the stagger cooldown of weaker enemies, permanently stunlocking them (when used with a light melee combo - Volus can't make use of it, for example.)
I don't know if it works on larger enemies, as I've never had the balls to try a light melee combo against a brute or a banshee (I'll consider this homework, but the stunner would be awfully OP if it works.)
