It is all too clear that every company EA touches gets watered down. Anything edgy or interesting in a game developer gets watered down, mainstreamed, and or removed. What EA doesn't understand is that the cutting edge is where great games are made.

Not just technical upgrades but pushing the boundries.

I say they don't get it, but we all know they do it intentionally. They want to take the edge off of things and feed us milk pudding. They care about money, but they also think they are in charge of policing our morality.

I'm done ranting. I appreciate BioWare for its early efforts and wish they had stayed independant.

I wouldn't say I am done but its not looking good for my relationship with EA... EA has ruined some of my most loved titles, simcity, sims 4, now with the issues I am getting with DAI there that.  I am not to happy with EA right now.

I might regret asking this, but how is EA "policing our mortality" in this case?  If you're gonna rant OP, try to be a little more specific.

Your post was a little vague, OP. Could you give us some specifics, perhaps?

I'm just mildly curious to see if I'm right in my guess.

I'd love some more clarification if you don't mind OP. All I got out of that initial post was, "EA bad because they make developers less good and tell us to do...stuff their way?".

Thanks. :)

For starters the 360 graphics are terrible. A rushed port with a seventy dollar price tag. DA2 looks better and you can buy that for much cheaper.

This game never should have been made for last-gen consoles to begin with, in my opinion. Developers really need to stop developing for the last-gen consoles.

Not sure what that has to do with "policing mortality" though.  It's a technical issue and I'm not trying to be dismissive of it nor excuse it, but I don't see that as an issue of mortality.

I was guessing there would be a storm of rage when people saw the last-gen graphics. Not sure what they were expecting.

I honestly can't believe you guys on last gen machines, who whine about this huge mother*bleeping* next gen game having crappy graphics on your last gen console.

Is your complaint, and the replies, dealing with technical issues or storytelling aspects?  When someone says "edgy" and "Pushing Boundaries" I infer they are speaking to the content of the story.

As far as the technical side, the game is beautiful.  Really captures that artistic edge Dragon Age Origins had back in 2008.

It's the price that is a slap in the face. Had they made last Gen prices lower then complaining about graphics could be under scrutiny.

Those are the limitations of the machine. Is it a slap in the face too that the next gen machines can't run crazy high resolutions and get some of the effects that some PCs can but it still costs the same amount? No. They did what they could with the platforms they had to work with. They still put the same amount of time and effort into the game but obviously they had to scale some things because on certain platforms due to hardware limitations.

Anyway, it's an RPG. The visuals are certainly nice but they really shouldn't be the main thrust of the game. The meat of the game is still there.

Really if people don't like the limitations of their hardware then upgrade or just learn to live with it. The alternative is they don't release at all for last gen machines and people would complain about that too.

I certainly hope you don't think the visuals need to be artificially stripped down to 360/PS3 levels for XBOne/PS4/PC, because that crap does go one on in the PC world quite a bit and it needs to stop. Games should take account a particular platform's strengths and weaknesses as much as is reasonably possible.

Why should you get a discount because you only have a have a last gen console? It probably took more work, not less, to get the game working on the 360/PS3 than it did for PC/Xbone/PS4. If anything Bioware should charge you a premium for accommodating your unwillingness to get with the times.

I can't believe you're so stupid as to think we have no standards.  Why is GTAV or Skyrim can do it then why can't Bioware?  Are you saying Bioware is some indy dev with no money and no people that can make a quality game?  That's pretty messed up because here you are on their forums.  They should at least meet their previous game quality.  I don't expect them to know the engine as good as DICE but Jesus.

I get it though..its just that elitist attitude you can't help.

I have not played enough of Inquisition yet but I feel Dragon Age: Origins will still be my favourite.

Dragon age 2 was pretty good, it was a departure from the style of 1 but what I could not forgive was all the environments were the same and it really dragged the game down. (Just like force unleashed 2)

I really enjoyed the pace and tactics of Origins but as they have clearly decided to move away from that with 2 and 3 I am looking forward to where they take it with multiplayer as the action style of combat is more suited for it.

If in the next release they can integrate a full single player game that can also be played multi I would immensely enjoy that.

Oh yes.

It's all my fault that BioWare *chose* to offer the game on last gen consoles. I can't believe I put that gun to their heads*, especially when I also own a PS4. (Which I was luckily able to exchange the 360 version for the ps4 version. That version is worth 70 bucks.)

I guess since BioWare put so much elbow grease into getting the game to work on the 360/PS3, then they should have shown it off in a demo. Hmm, gee, I wonder why they didn't...

I for one am super curious as to why you'd think it was anything approaching a good idea to get it for the 360 if you have a PS4.

Timing.

I was planning to buy a PS4 next month (at the latest, next year). Because of the shoddy 360 version, I went out and bought the PS4 today instead. I wanted to play DAI at release but wasn't planning to buy a PS4 at this time. Luckily someone hit my car from behind last week (and there was hardly any damage), but the insurance claim gave me a few extra hundred bucks to do with as I pleased. Hence, why I could buy the PS4 now.

It's pretty obvious Bioware/EA is trying to foist their SJW agenda on us with the whole NPCs don't care what gender you've chosen and just call you whatever they want.

I found it quite unsettling--I don't buy video games to have this heathenism shoved down my throat.
