For starters the 360 graphics are terrible. A rushed port with a seventy dollar price tag. DA2 looks better and you can buy that for much cheaper.

Then, buy it for a next gen console or the PC. The game wasn't built for last gen's consoles, anyway.

lol you have a lot more patience then I do.  I have noticed more than 1 post wanting you to explain yourself.

I know.

God forbid someone should be upset with paying a lot of money only to discover they have a poor quality product. A product showing zero proof of *being* poor quality until the packaging is opened and the disk is played. Had the devs shown a last gen demo then that would have helped many people avoid hassle by canceling their preorders, upgrading to the new gen versions.

I wanted to go from 360 to PS4 and I almost got screwed. The girl at GameStop said that I couldn't actually exchange my 360 game for the PS4 game. (I could for 360 to Xb1, but not 360 to PS4.) She pointed out that I would instead have to trade in my 12-hour old 360 game for 30 dollars store credit. Thus, I lose money. However, I lucked out. For one, she was generous and asked, "Did you redeem the codes?" I, in fact, didn't redeem any codes for the 360 game. Since the codes were unused, she demonstrated amazing customer service* by taking my 360 game back for a full, clean PS4 exchange. No money lost. (I could have kissed her.) I used my leftover funds from the fender bender to buy the console and now the game looks great.

I warn anyone who is planning to purchase a 360 version of this game: do *not* pay for that product. If you really want it on the 360, wait until it's priced under 20 bucks, if that.

*truly a lost art in today's day and age

I don't mind the graphics. But when people say that it should have not been made for last gen, this game was in development for a long time and was pushed back a while. I am sure originally they were planning on last gen. I have on the 360 and I don't mind graphics as that is not the draw for me. It is the story.

Funny, because there's a stack of Dragon Age Inquisition boxes that read "PS3" and "XBOX 360", lining the GameStop shelves.

Those are the limitations of the machine. Is it a slap in the face too that the next gen machines can't run crazy high resolutions and get some of the effects that some PCs can but it still costs the same amount? No. They did what they could with the platforms they had to work with. They still put the same amount of time and effort into the game but obviously they had to scale some things because on certain platforms due to hardware limitations.

Anyway, it's an RPG. The visuals are certainly nice but they really shouldn't be the main thrust of the game. The meat of the game is still there.

Really if people don't like the limitations of their hardware then upgrade or just learn to live with it. The alternative is they don't release at all for last gen machines and people would complain about that too.

I certainly hope you don't think the visuals need to be artificially stripped down to 360/PS3 levels for XBOne/PS4/PC, because that crap does go one on in the PC world quite a bit and it needs to stop. Games should take account a particular platform's strengths and weaknesses as much as is reasonably possible.

Man **** that noise. It is not unreasonable for someone playing on the 360 or ps3 to expect graphics of at least the quality of Dragon Age 2 which came out in 2011.

I can't believe you're so stupid as to think we have no standards.  Why is GTAV or Skyrim can do it then why can't Bioware?  Are you saying Bioware is some indy dev with no money and no people that can make a quality game?  That's pretty messed up because here you are on their forums.  They should at least meet their previous game quality.  I don't expect them to know the engine as good as DICE but Jesus.

I get it though..its just that elitist attitude you can't help.

They COULD have made the graphics better for the last gen console BUT it would require them to use a different engine which would have required increasing the development budget by about 75%, they would have needed to develop the engine they would have needed SEPERATE assets for this engine and in the end they would have almost double their cost just to make a game for hardware that is obsolete. The whole point of using frostbite 3 was they didn't need to develope a new engine.

Sorry but that is an unreasonable expectation.

Last gen consoles got a port what was designed to give them a CHOICE if they were unwilling or unable to upgrade.

My video card sucks (well it was top tier when I bought it but it sucks now) so on the pc things look meh for me but I played the game for 10 hours said Nope this isn't going to do so I bought a R9 290 video card which I will get tomorrow. I didn't blame Bioware for not making the game work on ultra with my old video card.

Yes it is unreasonable because the newer engine does not support good graphics on low power systems but does support STUNNING graphics on higher end machines. They are NOT going to remake the game just so to lower the quality of the ultra graphics setting. The only way to improve the graphics for last gen consoles or low power graphics cards for PC was to use a different engine. The whole POINT of going to Frostbite 3 was so they didn't have to create a new engine, so you expectation that they use a second engine just for old console is not reasonable.

Forget the graphics how about a working game? I havent been able to play it because it always crashes on the same spot and shutdown my system (PS3 version) and I am not the only one having problems with it. I will admit that there is a possibility that my PS3 is busted , I just need to check it on someone elses PS3 to see if this is true , but if not well then why they made available if they couldnt make it work properly? Granted Im pissed off right now and not being constructive but yeah if really intensive games like GTAV works amazingly on PS3 then why should I hope otherwise from a developer that has money to work on the game.

Here's something:

-Deadspace and Deadspace 2, I am one of the few people who really likes Deadspace 2 I think it improved on the survival horror aspects of the first one and made it better.

Deadspace 3 comes out and it's an action game with some horror elements oo, no paranoia, no isolation, or alienation, or the feeling of going mad like the other games

-Dragon Age Origins, innovated for the time it came out as a lot of old school RPGrs were starting to think the genre died. We loved all the complex, in depth mechanics of the world and the game

Dragon Age 2 is an abomination of a game, it was completely watered down, it was like giving us the fans a big ugly middle finger.

Dragon Age Inquisition, was suppose to be the game that hooked in the older players. The people who wanted a more in depth DAO, I a better and improved DAO. What did we get? Dragon Age Awakening, which was pretty much kind of neutered from the game DAO was, Awakening will never feel like an expansion to DAO because of how watered down it was

-F.E.A.R. another great survival horror game that maximized on paranoia, fear, and the player feeling like they were going to go crazy

F.E.A.R. 2 a action game with horror elements

F.E.A.R. 3 a action game with "horror" elements, maybe

-Kingdoms of Amular, I think was probably the second most decent game out when it came to the RPGs, it again was something seriously needed in the industry, but since EA shot themselves in the foot the company that made it went out of business

-Mass Effect 1, is still my all time favorite out of ME. It was great, had in depth, complex RPG elements, for a high sci-fi RPG it felt modern and innovative

-Mass Effect 2, was a neutered ME 1

-Mass Effect 3, was Halo with RP elements

DAI, is it the game the DAO fans wanted? Not really. It is better than DA 2 and I will accept it, and am having fun with it. Don't get me wrong. It's definitely refreshing compared to the crap RPGs coming out beside Dragon Dogma which was amazing.

Do I have to clarify any more for anyone?

I literally just said almost the exact thing in another thread.  These game series are being ruined because they all get turned into "just another action game".   its sickening to me, i have been PC gaming for 20 years and i have watched too many games stray from their roots and feel sub par, or like your not even playing a game in the series.

Oddly enough because its probably not very common on the BSN, sometimes when people say goodbye they really mean it.

I know, I've seen it before.  Just seems strange to make a vague comment like that and leave.  The majority of folks at least make their grievances clear.  <shrug>

Oh well, best of luck to him/her.  I hope they find games they enjoy.  I'm not being sarcastic either.  It sucks if you've lost faith in a company (Square, I'm looking at you... <_< )

In my opinion, this is the best RPG in the modern gaming world. Excellent work, Bioware. Under the glorious enlightenment and guidance from EA, a game publisher with precise long-term vision in future game development, Bioware finally manages to make a RPG suitable for everyone, but not just a game accessible only to a minority of hardcore RPG players.

DA: Origins is an old-school and medicore game only appealing to a tiny market niche. DA II breaks the medicority, and introduces the popular Mass Effect decision tree and button-mashing mechanics, which attracts tons of Call Of Duty (COD) and action gamers around the world, contributing to its great success. However, it still suffers from a linear and small game world, and repetitive dungeons.

DA: Inquisition evolves from its predecessors by combining the best elements of 2 popular RPGs in the modern era. it adopts the sandbox open world, lightweight RPG perspective and enormous fetch quest system from the highly praised Elder Scroll Skyrim, as well as the popular decision tree mechanism and the combat elements from another Bioware master piece, Mass Effect 3.

By having a cohesive reasonance of 2 best elements from 2 outstanding RPGs, and adding tons of creative elements, this game simply becomes one larger than the sum of all parts. You have a large world to explore, tons of item collection and FedEx quests to play with, and the best button mashing mechanics to finish off your opponents. Skyrim and this game are great because the both remove the annoying character stat building mechanism. Stat is now only granted from equipment, how amazing and creative, isn't it? In addition, this game adopts the perfect RPG gaming style of Skyrim, i.e. explore first, just forget the plot, which removes player's frustration to recall memory about the main quest and story line. This is just like a great and sincere invitation to all COD fans and action gamers, as well as any potential gamers. It caters for the taste of all gamers around the world via greatly enahncing its accessibility. It is a master of everythin rather than a jerk of all trades. This is a game for everyone!

You may worry about the return of the old-school tactical view from the mediocre DA:Origins may ruin your fantastic action packed game plae experience. Don't worry about that, it is just implemented for those hardcore players for their happiness in pausing the game all the time, breaking the pace of combat. This game can be handled easily by controlling your own character only under an action game style. The tactics setting of companions is simplified to an user friendly level for further accessibility. In contrast to DA: Origins, you can't set up some complicated tactics for your companions, but this is innecessary anyway. Friendly fire is disabled by default, so just forget your companions, and let them either fight or fall. You can handle fights easily by charging upfront and having high reflex in right timing of attack, dodge and button mashing. You can enjoy a fluid flow of combat all the time!

Overall, by removing the complexity and annoyance from old-school RPG, adding the best elements from 2 most famous modern RPGs, and introducing an exciting button mashing combat mechanics to the game, this game has reached the highest height of RPGs that none in the world could ever reach. This is a milestone of RPG development, and should be referred to in future development of RPGs. Today is an important day that marks the beginning of revolution in RPG history! A new ere of RPG has come! from now on, we can steop forwards and forget bout all classic rpgs in the old-school days. Everyone, express your praise and gratitude toward our beloved developers, and join us to have fun in the master piece of art now!

In case if there are expansions or sequels for this gift from God, which are highly probable considering how successful this game is, we really hope that first person shooting mode, QTEs and the mechanism of climbing tower to reveal map can be implemented. This will further induce passion from every gamer. Because these elements are universally regarded by every gamer as the best features that have ever existed in shooter and action games!

By the way, I am looking forward to seeing at least 1000 DLCs for this game. Because its scope is so huge, and with so much potential to further expand on. Don't keep us waiting, our wallets are ready!

...That's a tad extreme over a video game review, don't you think?  I think you're taking someone's opinions on the ME games and their success a little too personally.  Also, it's more than possible to enjoy both CoD/MW as well as other genres and franchises.  Crazy, I know.

I have no veredict yet, Origin kept ressetting my download all the time, i just have a pathetic 56% and i started preloading since friday.

All I want now is to blow down EA's offices with c4 and menace them to get me a hard copy of the PC version
