Now I'm mad, but not at Bioware or the game.

 

I'm mad at Gamestop.

 

I reserved the Deluxe Edition.... about 8 months ago.

 

I paid it of with the money I earn busting my butt at work.

 

And guess what they did? They gave it to some scrub at the midnight release, because the idiot couldn't be bothered to make sure it was the regular copy.

 

All I want is what I ordered with my money. Is that so much to ask? Shoulda gone digital, now I'm screwed out of the extra DLC and the soundtrack, and I'm stuck with a regular copy.

 

Seriously. The Gamestop where I live is not getting my business again for a long while.

I would not have accepted anything but deluxe. sorry man, i feel for ya, but i went to gs 3 times release night just to make sure I got the right stuff.

Problem is they didn't have any deluxe for PC other than the one they frickin' gave away. And the closest store was out of state that still had one. They shafted me.

Dude, I would have raised holy hell with the manager. You have the receipt, you paid for a deluxe version and you should demand one. No way should you be inconvenienced because of someone else's mistake. Make him call the other GS's in the area and have them bring a copy there!

I had it put on my other deluxe edition (for the 360 for a lady friend) ... but I'm also on hold with Gamestop on the phone - the actual main number. See if overall gamestop CS can help.

You still have options, my friend. Call GameStop's customer service line (they'll probably be slammed today though) and explain the situation. Again, you have the receipt and the copy of the basic game. I'm sure they'll swap it out for you - it's not like you're trying to rip them off; you just want what you paid for,

That's frustrating, hopefully they make it right.

 

I have a release day story involving Gamestop too.  I pre-ordered, and scheduled a store pick-up for today.  Went there this morning when they opened, and was told it is not in yet.  Now I am anxiously awaiting it's arrival today, that's the breaks.....

Yeah, quality in service really differentiates from local to local. The one in my town is damn good.

A bit of advice if it is not too late; you can try and complain to corporate about it. It might be a bit of a bother but it may help ensure it does not happen again.

That sucks dude, I'm really sorry.  That is the exact reason I stopped pre-ordering from GameStop and started pre-ordering from Amazon. That happened to my friends way to often with the Halo collectors edition games.
