Okay, just woke up after day 1 of literally playing the entire day with my female human rogue.

This post isn´t about some of the glaring control issues that this game has, that makes it difficult to use your full potential in combat, it is merely intended to reflect the rogue class in a vacuum, as well as discuss some of the rogues active abilities.

And my verdict is that the rogue is awesome. One of the biggest fears that I had, was that the rogue was unable to 1-shot creatures like it was in DA2. The first videos i saw had the rogue use twin fangs, even on normal, and hardly scratch the enemy´s health.

Well, thankfully, I was wrong. I´ve 1-shotted lvl 12 archers (4 lvls above me) on normal, with the simple use of upgraded twin fangs, combined with stealth (50% bonus dmg), and flanking (another 25%, plus a bonus on Twin Fangs itself). Add in Winters Grasp for another 25-50% damage, and you begin to feel like an actual assassin. I did manage to find a schematic for a 190 dps dagger, made two of them, and modified them to both have crit and crit dmg, so keep that in mind.

The subtle change to stealth is huge. Right now, it´s cooldown is reduced by doing damage, which results in a ton of excellent hit-and-run gameplay.

Flank Attack is essentially DA2´s backstab on steroids. Easily does a good 50% of Twin Fangs dmg, while positioning yourself perfectly for the latter. It is also an essential gap closer with huge range, giving the state of the frustrating controls.

Spinning Blades, once upgraded is easily my favorite, both visually and gameplay wise. It essentially turns you into a spinning drill, while doing excellent (atleast 75% of Twin Fang) damage in an aoe in front of you. Reminds me a bit of Yoda vs Doku(if anyone can remember that fight), but that´s just a personal observation. I´m also somewhat certain that the skill interacts with the cooldown reduction on stealth, basically allowing you to use stealth back-to-back.

So all in all, pretty happy with the DW rogue. She is easily the strongest on my team, and a lot of fun to play.
