I'm probably just challenged. The character record tab has been locked from level 2-5 without being able to skill up. Its got a portrait of a lock next to it. Doesn't matter in combat, out of combat, world map, camp, post rest, etc. Is there a way to enable/disable this? Does it unlock at a certain point in the game? Sorry If this is a stupid question...

I started a new game and I have no problem accessing the Character Record tab. When I log into the older game, it is still locked. (P doesn't work on old game, button on main page is greyed out, and on hero menu there is a portrait of a lock) Any ideas?

I have the same problem. Didn't try starting a new game.

I have the same bug... god thats so annoying 4 hours into the game. This bug + the bad PC controls have already ruined my excitment for Inquisition.

If its on xbox one, enable kinect commands. yell "character record" and boom. bypass the lock. Just did it a moment ago. Hope this helps.

My understanding is that it's locked until your very first boss fight at the beginning, which is what I experienced. Afterwards, it gets unlocked.
