Ok, so I some how managed to find 4/5 pecies on dead bodies, but I can't find the fith, am I mising something or is it just really bad random drops.

It seems to be random drops from mages, if that helps at all.

There's a store in VR that sells crafting materials together with furniture. Unlocks with Skyhold, if I'm not mistaken so you may  want to hold off finishing that requisition until you unlock it.

Oh, same problem, 4/5 and stuck. So frustrating =(

After completing the Master of Horses quest, which you get upon entering the Hinterlands, you get the quest Trouble with Wolves. At the end of the quest, there's a loot pile that had three velveteen for me, which topped me off since I'd already had two beforehand. Hope this helps!

I randomly got Velveteen when I travelled to the Storm Coast and got attacked by mages. Got five altogether

I had the same issue, had found 4/5 on random drops from mages. I was able to find the last one though, while exploring the wolf hollow near the Redcliffe Farms.

I found my last piece in a sack during the quest The Champions of the Just. It was in the courtyard area with three flags (they're quest related so you'll see them) tucked away in the corner.

Look in the hinterland at and around the Dusklight camp which is south east of RedCliffe. you may have to come back a few times for it to respawn.
