Can you check the state of the world after you have begun DA: I?

I thought I had my tapestry set to all the decisions I had made in previous games.  Last night, I started DA:I and imported my World State from the keep.  I've now played this game for about 6 or 7 hours, and I heard a reference to "Queen Anora".  I hate "Queen" Anora and had her imprisoned in my world state.  Also Varric mentioned "Hawkes brother Carver".  I played a rogue in my save from DA 2 and Carver died escaping Lothering.  Is this just a bug?? How can I see which decisions were actually imported to DA: I?

I would just start over but to be honest I haven't enjoyed the first 6 hours of this game as much as I thought I would and I would rather not play it over again.  Given the size of this game I also don't think I'll have time to play more than once, and I don't want to waste my one play through finding out what happened to drunken Alistair and stupid Queen Anora.  Please help I want to cry!

You need to check the timestamp of your import (under the icon in the keep that has the little computer) and the timestamp that the pop up in the game has when it asks if you want to import from the Keep. They need to match up.

I only have played the 6 hour trial, but so far my decisions seem to have been reflected.

So you're asking for a way to alter your world once you've started playing? There isn't any way to do that so either you'll have to start over and double check to make sure the correct world state was exported or continue with this world state. It could be a bug, but that depends if you're 100% sure you did everything right.

I don't expect to be able to change my world state after I've started, I was just hoping there was some journal or codex entry I could look at to see what choices were actually imported so I could decide whether I needed to start over now or just forge ahead. @devilsavocado.

The time stamp in the keep looked correct which is why I'm so confused that this happened. @crowskin

Well just in case anyone else has this problem: if you look at your codex in the history section, you can see a rundown of the 5th blight. Assuming this is not generic to everyone, it will tell you what happened to the warden, Loghain, and who rules Fereldan. Guess I'll be starting over. Kinda takes the fun out knowing the "Hero of Fereldan" is dead. Smh

I had the same issue. I thought everything was cool, but Leliana just told me the female warden died fighting the arch demon. I know i synced and everything. Had the check on the dai pc icon. My info was all set before i even had dai. My warden was a guy that romanced leli but had owb with morrigan so lived. I would agree a codex entry at the start, titled The state of the world, or some such, would be cool. I will probably start over, just wish there was some way to check it had synced ( sunk ? Heh ) properly.

Oh thanks sch, i will check it out man.

I made a new toon and the import seems to have taken. Perhaps i just failed at importing or it bugged out first time. Not to worried about 9 hoiurs when i know i am gonna spend a lot of time in dai. Now i know not to mess with those lyrium guys south of the fiurst camp, haha.

I wonder if it's a problem of the game either reading your Keep import or not. So that when it fails for people it fails entirely and the default gets imported instead. I mention this because I'm seeing a lot of people mention that DAI has a female Warden dying to the Archdemon which is the default.

That seems to be exactly what my story was- female warden died killing the arch demon. I'm sorry to hear it's happening to other folks. I also created a new character. I'm hoping it synced correctly this time- but Bioware should patch this in an update. Give us a brief description of the choices associated with each world state. Just the major ones (like warden died or warden lived, Morrigan had baby or she didn't, etc.). Something similar to the 5th blight codex entry I mentioned before would be just fine.

I have a feeling some of the more minor choices won't be mentioned much more than in passing but fingers crossed the big decisions do impact the story line and therefore actually do matter.

The game doesn't get released here in the UK until Friday, so I have no experience of importing a World State yet, but I have noticed something about exporting from the Keep that might be relevant.

Yesterday I exported a World State in preparation for my first playthrough on Friday. The box at the bottom of the Tapestry showed a green tick, and so I naturally assumed everything had gone through correctly.  Today, when I returned to double-check something in the Tapestry, I noticed there was a small box in the top right hand corner saying the WS "Needs to be Exported", as if I hadn't already done it. I've no idea why it didn't "take"!

I've exported my WS again today, and that box at the top now just says "DAI" with a tick through it.

As I say, I can't verify if this is relevant yet, but it might be worth checking your Tapestry and seeing if the box at the top (just under the globe icon) shows a tick or has the "Needs exporting" message.

I wondered about that question myself. If I recall correctly there was a console command in DA2 that kinda let you review the imported save from Origins.

I've only found page 2 of the 5th Blight codex so far and based on that and conversations I had it *seems* to be a good import but still a bit uncertain. Don't want to find out that something didn't carry over the way it should have after 10 hours in the game

In theory you should be able to check the import by copying your Playthrough States in the Keep and then viewing the Tapestry of the copied state. I don't know how often DAI uploads data to the Keep though. Also I don't know if the Playthrough States are actually enabled yet. So while it should work, I don't know how practical it is.

Had the same problem. Mention of Queen Anora (Alistair should be king and the Warden, queen), and Carver being alive (Hawke was a rogue). I didn't find this out until hours and hours into the game. I reaaaaaally don't want to restart at this point, and I'm sort of wondering how much of a difference this will all make. Ugh. This sort of ruined the release for me. Along with the poor controls for the PC.

Guess I need to go back into the keep and try again, but another day. I think I'm done for now.
