Every time this company, Bioware, makes a game, my life changes in its definition.

i.e. life before DAO, life after DAO, life before mass effect, life after mass effect, and DAI is no exception!!!

Even the games that maybe didn't get as much attention and time as the others, like DA2 are still loved by me. You can call me a fanboy, or call it blind love, i'm not trying to define it, I just know if I had the ability to wish a game into existence it would be DAI!!!

I know for other gamers they may feel this way about Fallout, Halo or Mario and and for good reason.

But when you look at what Bioware is doing for gamers, they create an epic fantasy with YOU as its star, what could be better???!!!!

It seems every time a Bioware game launches, this is the first thing I do the day after I play the game for the first time.

No other entertainment medium can do this, let alone many other games, in fact I'm hard pressed to think of any company that creates such a world for its gamers...

No other entertainment medium IS every entertainment medium!!!

It's visual art, it's music composition, it's literature, it's design, it's cinematography and so on and so forth...

Video games hit plateaus here and there, but DAI is a huge leap in so many wonderful directions.

I think Bioware just put every other company on notice, as it should be in the development community, as it is in music too.

As it was for Bioware when they referenced Skyrim and The Last of Us as its inspirations.

when is a game a magical experience for a gamer?

When I play something and I can't conceive what's happening to a degree that it's almost unimaginable how this game was ever made, it's like seeing alien technology, you really can't explain what's going on, but you know you love it!!!

THANKS AGAIN BIOWARE.

I guess us who actually enjoy the game are playing it. Not raging in the forums because mommy didnt buy the game for us or because denuvo is yet to be cracked so you can't get it for free either.

You're not dreaming.

The game has little rough edges, but to my eyes its near perfect... I can't fathom how I felt in awe despite I'm still a noob and have to get a hang of the new way to control the selected character (melee for me) with keyboard and mouse as there's no point-and-click there. (haven't found it)

Yup and can confirm the game runs flawless at 60 FPS and all settings set to Ultra with only one or two set to high.

Also load times were highly exaggerated.

Game is gorgeous and very fun. Easily the best fantasy RPG in years (much better than Witcher 2 imo).

I agree with the OP. I was worried after reading the forums last night. I said I would never pre-order a game again after Sim City, but I am glad I did. They got me with the pre-order bonus. Yes, I am that gullible.

It's nice to see a positive thread. The feedback forums are a little toxic right now.

Its a very good game, nothing revolutionay, but way better than DA II. I think that people bashing or praising too much are overeacting. Its a 8 out 10 game IMO.

You should try Divinity: Original Sin...with 10% of DAI budget is a better RPG.

i'm only three hours in-and while i'm getting my footing with the combat system still, and the slight differences in controls from the prior games, I think that the arwork is spectacular, the complexity promising, and i'm seeing signs that there may be some high replayability in this game.

So far, I'm liking what I'm seeing, very much.  Kudos, Bioware. :)

Load times are actually pretty fast, maybe it's because I'm using an SSD.

I have been a very disgruntled EA/BW player in the past, and I was very iffy on pre-ordering, but saw enough promise to decide to do so  with extremely cautious optimism...

It was well worth it so far.  Significant changes in the character art, but at least they're recognizable from the prior games.  And the vistas and landscapes so far have been spectacular.  The tutorial/intro was particularly well done, imo, it hardly felt "oh, they're telling me the basic stuff for the game", but was very compelling storytelling in its own right.

I can see how older systems might get overwhelmed with the demands of the game, but with that significant caveat, I think this is going to be a well loved addition to the DA canon. :)

He must be at work and can't play the game.

Yeah, he is probably just pre-praising Bioware.

The disillusion will pass when he plays the game.  :pinched:

I said this in almost all the negative topics i saw:

Its not a game problem that people are having. Its a controls / graphics problem.

Its gonna take you well over 3h to get used to the new mechanics (which i admit are very different from anything seen in past bioware games) and you'll need a lot of tweaking and tries with the graphics settings untill you get it perfectly running for your machine (talking about PC ofc).

Once you get throught that hassle you can finally get to enjoy and see the wonders of the game.

People are just way to impatient and not willing to give it a shot. They just look at flaws and instead of trying to work around or adjust it, they just go meatballs bashing on the game. Whine whine whine. Paraphrasing the famous words - "If you drink more wine, you'd whine a lot less" Whiners need to have that as their ringtones.

Dont expect an easy start thats all I'm saying. It can be quite disheartening at the beggining if you dont take your time to learn the controls and making the graphics to your performance needs. Once you get through that, buckle up. The true game will begin. Im completely lost in Hinterlands just doing sidequests and I'm not even worried that the advisors are waiting for me to progress the story. Im loving to take my time getting to know and interfere in the problems of Hinterlands.

Using a 7200 RPM HDD myself and still load times are around 1 minute which considering how few load screens there are, that's very acceptable. Especially compared to BF4, which would take around 3 minutes to load a single level in MP.

That's literally so for *every* BW game ever released. The ones that deserved criticism and the good ones as well.

...after 10 hours of gaming I'm pretty firm in the "positive" camp so far. There's still a lot of room for improvements (PC controls are atrocious for example. ughh), but it gets the important part right: the game is simply fun.

Yup.  Why would we spend our time creating threads saying how awesome it is when we could be PLAYING the awesome?

It really is a fun game.

It is a good game. Bit it could be better - especially on the pc. All they need to do is "fix" PC controls.

But lets be honest, it's DAO. This game isn't ground breaking in anyway. In that regard, it's disappointing. But I think the bigger questions is why does the PC version seems so 3rd world.

I've only had a handful of hours with Inquisition (curse you history paper!)  But what I have played has been extremely heartening on the story side :D  I am playing a dwarf warrior, and the new combat is much more enjoyable as a tank (DA2's threat management system was a PITA extraordinaire imo) having to manage guard is very nice.  Yeah the controls can be wonky but patches and tweaks can fix that, and the graphics stuff can be fixed with updates to the code/drivers/hardware upgrades.  Overall I am really enjoying it, and hats off to the people who are also enjoying it, and special props to the ones who are not enjoying it but are being respectful with their concerns!
