sorry if this is a silly question (or if it's been previously answered elsewhere), but I can't seem to find an explanation online or in the .PDF game manual.  Can someone PLEASE tell me what these metallic-looking "spikes" are? (Above the health bars of the Inquisitor and Blackwall in the attached image, circled in red.)  THANK YOU!

Looks like Guard? Is your Inquisitor a Warrior?

Guard is temporary HP you've built up using warrior abilities.

That's Guard. Your warriors build it up through "defensive" actions (e.g. getting attacked by taunted foes), and it absorbs damage, thereby preventing you from being hurt.

That's Guard. It acts like a barrier for warriors.

HP won't reduce as long as it's up.

Yep, the gray things are guard, the blue bar is "Barrier" (what mages can cast), both work the same way basically, a "shield" that takes the damage instead of your health until it runs out.

Guard is built through the warriors skills.
