I have a simple question that likely has a tricky answer. I have no experience creating animations but I would like to take some pre-existing ones and mirror them, altering an animation that uses the right hand to one that uses the left, for instance. I'm wondering if anyone has attempted this or knows whether it's an easy job or a difficult one. Thanks,

simple answer: that's not possible. to alter an existing animation you have to import it. without such an importer there's no way to do so.
you could create a new animation from scratch, but you will need expotron and 3dsmax 6-8.
Thanks for the response. Creating new animations is a bit beyond my scope, I was hoping that it would be possible to open up the pre-existing ones but it looks like that isn't possible.
