Game is AMAZING on PS4.

But dat console experience though: 720p, 30 fps, bad shooter controls, no thanks.

It's because you're used to lumbering like a whale.

The mustard race has a term for those who move as you have to.  We call them keyboard turners.

The console experience WORKS.  In fact, it works BETTER than the PC for THIS game!

So what now hot stuff?

Your post makes no sense.

I have a pretty decent PC (i7-4790k quad core 4ghz and a GTX 970 video card) and a PS4.  I enjoy games from both!

Not sure what you're getting at.

The game feels and plays like an MMO with console combat. It reminds me very much of that Kingdoms of Amalur game, not Dragon Age.

This exact comparison came to my mind yesterday after watching some video. I couldn't get into KoA and its generic, boring plot with its huge (but also generic) world with its non-stop side quests without context and crafting loot scattered across the game. I'm told KoA's plot picked up and became interesting further in the game, but the complete lack of motivation to get there soured me just 10 hours into the game (it was a rental).

I hope DA:I doesn't have a similar feel to it.

I like having good arguements but regarding your comment about it running better than consoles.  Yea, how's those controls and tac cam working out for ya? :)

PS4's let you not only zoom out on the tac cam, but also you can use the L and R trigger buttons to slow down combat to a crawl if you want or speed it up.  Can PC do that?  Nope.

Anyways, not going to turn this into a PC vs Console war.  I have both a PC and PS4.

The main reason I never bought a console back in the day, that and no multiplayer in those days, even before their graphics fell behind.  Back when PC users were pretty much stuck at low res 30 fps also

Controller is nice for fighting (Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat) and driving games, not so much for anything else.  You keyboard turn on everything.  Why consoles have to have aim assist and why PC and console multiplayer have never been integrated

We can also zoom out on tac cam.  Speeding up and slowing down won't work on multiplayer (though it's not as fun as I'd hoped) but the graphics and general control scheme difference is too great for me to ever consider a console

My friend if you're seriously trying to have a console vs PC war, guess what...you'll lose.  I tried this war 2 years ago and lost badly.  Yes with a $2-3k computer, it will perform higher in benchmarks but for the cost of $300 now you can have a pretty amazing gaming experience with a next-gen console.  Not to mention that consoles make WAYYYYYYY more money in the gaming industry.

I'm just saying, not trying to start a war.

You cannot build a PC that will outperform a PS4 for $300.  It's not happening.  We're talking cost for cost here.

Anyways, moving on.

I will not lose anything.  I can spend $600 and have a much better experience.

Console controls and graphics are too sub par to ever be considered.  They are just a vastly inferior product

If I want to play on my TV I can just hook up my computer (the question remains if my TV is high res and refreshes fast enough B) )

If I want to use a controller on my computer, I can.

Guys... gaming industry is a serious business.

Keep in mind, that for 300-400$ you can't have a decent pc. It is just impossible.

PC is for work first, and gaming second <- in that order. When a console is a device designed purely for gaming and enjoyment.

300-400$ x 10 = a decent pc, that will outperform a console by a huge margin. But!

Even if console users paying less for a device, overall expenses for games and side products are higher. Console gamers are paying more. Never forget that.

Which means console gamers are target audience if not for a developer, but for a publisher for sure.

Never forget, that you are dealing with companies who are making money by selling you their products. (which means there is no place for blind fanboyism and white knighthood, you must clearly judge a product you about to buy.)

Sorry but this is false.  How are you coming up with these numbers?

Average cost of a gaming PC: $1500 <-  Average number.  Some can build theirs for $1000, some $2000.

Average cost of a gaming console: $500 <-  This includes maybe an extra controller, a PS4 camera, and a headset.  (although you don't really need the camera)

Games cost $60 on both PC and Console.

So how exactly are you getting it that the console gamer will pay more in the long run.  In fact, my PC costed me $2500.  It's a monster.  My PS4 costed me $400 and that included a PS4 camera and a controller.  I bought a headset for it.  I only spent $400.

$400 versus $2500.  Hmmm...yea.  Granted I'm using this as a rough example, but in no way do consoles AND their accessories cost more than a gaming PC.  Not cost for cost when you put them side by side.

I'm going to try to refrain from being a jerk here but you're being extremely negative almost to the point of annoying.  First things first, I have a PC.  I built it recently and it's a 4790 quad core 4.0ghz with a GTX 970 4gb twin frozr video card but I also have a PS4 and I chose to play THIS game on my PS4.

So yes, I have both systems.

And you weren't promised anything that Bioware hasn't delivered.  Check the reviews.  Out of the 7 reviews I've read and watched by Eurogamer, GamesRadar, PCGamer, IGN, Gamespot, etc., they have ALL given the game either a 4 out of 5 or a 9 out of 10.  I think IGN gave it an 8.8 I believe.  Can't remember.  The reviews are pouring in and they are saying the game is GREAT.  I've played the game, and I'm having a blast.

Take this for what it is.  I can't even believe people are crying wolf and saying "Bioware lied to me, this game isn't delivering what they promised.'

I just can't even....

Sorry was i too negative ? I tend to do that when i'm told how i should use inferior controler whit my gaming pc.

And yes we were promised a lot of stuff.

Push-to-talk and chat for DAMP was one of them - want me to bring the twitch whit the developers saying its there ?

We were also promised ( yes promised again in a twitch whit developers ) that the new "streamlined" tactics work perfectly ( descpite been almost non existant).

Really you gona post this big reviews from big pages as the one truth out there ? If i remember correct IGN was singing praises for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days...

But all that dont even mather. The real problems is - there is valid problems whit the game ( controls, tac cam. AI ect ect ) yet you come here telling us all of us that we are just whining and we should just get a crapy controller to enjoy the game ( btw controler wont help for the reason that the controlers are at falt for the crappy pc controls ). So yes im negative.

Is the game worth the 60 euro ? Yes.

Is the game as good as DA:O ? No.

So played last night using Xbox One controller on my PC.  A little better to me than mouse keyboard.    So best of both worlds.   That said keyboard mouse controls are nowhere near as bad as people here are making them out to be.

I play PC games.......I play XB1 games.........I play PS4 games.............and I know good and well that the combined sales for DA:I for XB1 and PS4 will trump PC.  Its the world we live in.

First, you need to educate yourself. Though Ive preferred the PC up until this point, the developers have stated that on a ps4 this particular game is equivalent to a pc on high settings. So your 'vastly superior' is a bunch of nonsense. Second, I have a high end 70" Sharp/Pioneer 120hz tv and no matter on a pc or ps4 the experience was vastly inferior to a good smaller size monitor 23-28". When I hooked my ps4 to the monitor it felt like a good pc game. I happen to have a good Dell Alienware monitor. Yes if I purchase a new pc with dual 980s and a rog swift gsyn 27" in 1440p that will be even better, but not enough to justify the cost of at least $2500 to get the kind of frame rates where the experience really would be vastly superior based on everything I have read so far and every YouTube video I have watched.

subscriptions. like ea access for example.

also - i will judge this by a region in am currently in. a game for a console has a price of 70$, when the same game for a pc has a price of 40$.

also 1500$ is a pc that you will upgrade on the next year or in two years. It's a bare minimum of a pc.

I don't get it. What's so bad about Skyrim? It's one of the most popular games in history.

Short answer to the latter part of your statement... mods, at least on the PC. Sure it is a very popular game, it does have a certain charm, but it also feels like quest by numbers, rather than an all encompassing immersive story.

IDK, the game has been a real learning experience for me. I haven't played any DA games before so it's been difficult to acclimate to the controls and absorb all the lore. The issues with Xbox Live last night almost make me want to take the whole goddamn console back and give up gaming entirely though. I'm going to give it some more playtime tonight and see if I feel a little better all the disconnects kind of pissed me off.

On a side note if you're considering getting a new console and consider Xbox One just do yourself a favor and slam your genitals in the doorway and pocket the money. You get the playing experience without blowing all your cash.

You can plug in a controller on PC and get the same experience. I don't get anyone saying the PS4 is superior since you can make the PC version a faster running PS4 version simply by using a pad. The issues with the game are boring MMO style quests and an action focus, which are the same on all platforms.

I will admit the thread seriously got derailed and off-topic.  But people don't want to have to use a gamepad controller for their PC cause they're stubborn.  Also, there are a few other quirks that are happening on the PC that aren't on the console, like black screens, crashing, etc.

Also (and I'm just nitpicking probably) but you can zoom all the way out in tac cam on the console and you cannot do this on the PC.  Not to mention that on the console you can use the L and R triggers to slow down or speed up the combat while in tac cam.  It's a beautiful feature.

Again, just nitpicking.

Well I never had black screens or crashes, and I can't say for sure since I never used tactical camera but I would surely think those features exist on PC as well, they're just mapped funny or require using a pad to use.

Yet to have any crashes or black screens....on 2 very different PC setups.

Besides that sorta stuff is par for the course for PCs.  Considering all the combinations of PC components, OS configs, Drivers, Driver configs......yada yada...this happens in every single PC game.  I guarantee that the # of people having crashes and such are a tiny fraction of people playing on PC.   We only hear a vocal minority on these forums.  Hell most probably don't even know these forums exist.
