Okay I bought the Ultimate Edition of DAO for steam today ( The game store did not have wallets for Origin, and i do not pay for things over the internet. ) and after installation I was pleasantly surprised to see that all my characters can be loaded in the steam version. :)

I also already made the changes mentioned here so that I have the console in Steam.

But now to the questions. ( Well the questions that I can come up with at the moment. )

A) I am uncertain if I should restart my characters now that I have the Ultimate Edition. I have at the moment no idea if any of the mods I have installed will work correctly with Awakening and such. ( I will try to find out of course but still. )

b ) Are there more changes I need to make in DA Mod Manager other then pointing it to the steam folder?

I have no idea if I miss something with one or two characters. I doubt I will have missed anything with my mage since I only just reached Redcliff with her after finishing things in Lothering. But because I have no idea what the effect will be if I find out which mods need updates for Awakening and such? Because I guess some mods need a new game to get the full effect again?

C) Now not that I will start to make mods any time soon, ( Or at all. ) but I still would like to download and install the Toolset just in case. Now when I check the CD Key in Steam I see 2 cd keys? One for the Ultimate Edition and one for the Ultimate Edition DLC ... which of the two should I use to register my game?

That is it ... for now at least. :)

You are very persistent. :D

A. Just try and see if it works. If it doesn't, you'll simply have to go through the painstakingly tedious process of sorting out which mods actually do work with Awakening. In my experience, the mods don't lead the game to crash, they just won't show up in your game. Then again, I don't know which mods you have installed, so....

Also, if you are worried about losing any valuable character data or anything, store the data on another disk. It's what I do for whenever I need to switch my characters to a new computer.

B. Can't help you there, I use the NMM/ daupdater or install my mods manually. The modmanager doesn't like me. >.> But what you did is looking good, I don't know what else you would want to change there.

Unless you mean you have the mods stored in a different location to where your game folder currently is? Because the modmanager won't just transfer the existing mods to a new folder simply because you changed the path. The modmanager will install any new mods you download in the new location.

C. I can't see that it matters, really. I used the DLC key on this site, simply because I couldn't download the DLC directly from Steam, in contrast to the actual game.

Hi, try to register your game keys in the Legacy BSN or may be origin to make sure everything works correctly with the DLC activation etc. And for the registration use your game key, the DLC key shouldn't work either because it's a one time key, far as I'm aware of and only activates DLC once. The other one is the game key and so to say "eternally valid" for every installation.

Mods should work fine, never used the mod manager but installed quite a few so I can asure you of that.^^

Edit: I personally would recommend to use origin, because I had problems with the BSN e.g. that half of the DLC was missing and not activated, had to buy a new ultimate edition to fix the problem, now both are working. :X

LoL Persistent ... annoying, there are probably more words people can come up for me when I am acting like this. :) ( Usually that does not happen often. )

As for sorting through the mods,  I have been doing that the past hour or two. It seems that most of them work so far. although when I tried to apply the changes on the Pocket plane mod an odd thing happened? The changes I hat to make to an xml file should make it work with Awakening, but after I hat made them several mods no longer worked. Namely a mod with Unlock spells for my Mage ... the FuruFuru armour mod ... and oddly enough it also made the Pocket Plane mod itself unusable? :)

Now in the Mod authors defence, I usually do not edited many xml files so I believe that I simply made the changes incorrectly. But I tested Pocket Plane without the changes and it seems to work perfectly so far in the Ultimate Edition. So I guess the changes are not needed right now.

Well the mods I have installed right now are all visible in the main menus Downloadable content, so everything is used.

Well I found this thread on the steam forums and it worked out perfectly for me. :)
