Hello this is my first time playing a dragon age game and have a couple questions.

 

1. I started a mage and I saw something about specializations to further change the way a mage plays like the necromancer. I tried looking online but was unable to find out how to you learn these specializations or are they in MP only?

 

2. Now that I am in the hinterlands do i stay there till the zone is completed or do i try and find the quest that moves on? i ran in to a level 12 rift and just got destroyed and my other quest was to go the north but the guard wont open the gate.

 

3. I played the ea trial for 6 hours to see if id like the game i did so i bought it but i was already level 6 when it came back on last night so now where do i find my pre order bonus gear?

Specializations will unlock later? I haven't got any of them yet either and I just got to Skyhold. I think I read that people will teach/unlock it for us.

Hinterlands...I still haven't finished everything on that map. lol Including that damn level 13 rift (it kicked my ass to). I've been bouncing back and forth between the different areas exploring, side questing, and story crap. As for the guard...did you 'make Crossroads safe' yet? Check you map for those little diamond things and goof off until you stumble on what you need.

Can't help you with the third thing, I have mine on PC.

Specializations aren't available from the start, but as the game progresses you'll get them. 

 

In the Hinterlands, all you really need to do is build up enough power in order to progress the next step of the story. You can stay and do more, or do just enough to move on.

 

I'm not sure about preorder bonus gear, now that you mention it. I should get it as well, but have yet to see it. Maybe that comes later as well. xD
