I can login to the legacy social.bioware.com site. I can select dragon age 1, and can select my character (I can do a diagnostic and get no red X's (though I do get error 1005)).
 

I click on my character, see a story page... and nothing.. no content.

 

It looks like there is something called "Story XML".. It looks like there is a page even to display my characters story..

 

But it looks to be broken.

 

I have my DA1 and DA2 saves.. I even have just found a DA1 save called PostCampaign1, and in that file is a <CHARNAME>_Story.xml file

 

But that file uses ID numbers for it's.. it's worthless without a cross reference to turn those ID's into text..

 

In a game with probably close to a 1000 questions... How do I see my previous choices?

 

Is really the only choice to re-install DA1 and DA2?

Because your story files were corrupted, you'll have to re-instal DA:O/2 if you wanted to cross reference your games. Just to note some files in DA2 were bugged thus the quest logs and codex could be incorrect.

I have 2 postCampaign_1 story_xml files (one for da1, one for da2)  ready to upload....but nowhere to upload them.

 

I understand the Keep choice selector is needed (ppl might not have the xml file, coming from a console etc).

 

But There are most likely 100,000 people who have story_xml files from DA1, and DA2, ready to upload, and will now spend hours re-installing, and cross-referencing their journals because that's the only way they can have their previous choices matter.

 

After Mass Effect 3, For a company that says "CHOICE MATTERS". I'm starting to not feel like it.

 

Pretty frustrated that just because the solution won't serve all platforms or all use cases it isn't done.

 

Off to re-install, and cross reference journal with a wiki, with a website.. 

 

Publish the event ID cross reference table/XML ffs. Let the community help the thousands of people who have story_xml's but no way to know what they mean.
