Anyone know where this guy Whittle is at the redcliffe crossroads who is trying to help the refugees with the cold? I can't find the guy and the directions to find him is "just across the road." I'm like okay but which road this is a CROSSroads after all.

I found him he is on the west road up a small hill right outside a tunnel.

I can't find him anywhere... stupid ass Corporal Vale keeps talking about him "across the road" but there's no directions. Where abouts on the map is he?

IIRC he's near the hunter that starts the ram meat quest. If you check your quest map it should have a marker for him, the quest mentions something about the elements.

When you enter the little village coming from the first encampment turn left (rather than heading straight, passed the vendor) and head up the pathway past some fields and a man talking about the Hinterlands being 'Nowhere' and continue following the stone fence until you reach the mouth of what appears to be a cave (it's a passage). He'll be standing amongst the other guards and scouts hanging around outside it.
