I believe it works better, because:
1) It doesn't wear down that poor mouse button.
2) You don't have to hold mouse over the opponent to attack.

Although there should just be an ption to auto-attack like in previous titles IMHO.

I'd agree if you're worried about wearing out your mouse, but if you have a target selected and locked on you don't have to click on the target it works exactly like R. So I key bound R to something more useful. Personal preference of course :)

now fix the tac cam and other issues and we really got something here!

Thanks everyone for your answers.

One more question.  Does the pause feature work outside tactical view/mode or is it tied up to it and can not be used while controlling main/one of the caracters?

Perfomance is ok, especially with the latest drivers, playing on ultra (i5-2400/16gb/780/ssd) and don't experience any problems aside from cutscenes which are locked to 30 fps for whatever reason.

Now the controls and interface are absolutely terrible for keyb/mouse.

The interface specifically is worse than Skyrim/Fallout 3 without mods and is obviously not designed by professionals. Seriously I have a 32" display and their inventory list only shows 6 items on screen, hello endless scrolling. Dunno, maybe they wanted it playable on phones or something?

tactical is tied to the pause. If you end the pause the AI controlled followers just resume the action based combat and you lose any tactical decisions you made.

if this is a bug or not is unknown at this point

You can pause. Just hit CTRL.Scrolling the mouse wheel takes you into tac cam and pause as well.

For me frame rates drop and spike like crazy. I have the recommended rig, 7870, quad core etc. Sometimes my fps is 30 or so and sometimes it drops to 14 fps. It really is crazy, I can play Shadow of Mordor on Ultra (I do put shadows on medium, hell I even leave the grass on ultra) and get around 58 fps, but I’m lucky to get 30 fps in DA:I. In addition, the title screen is buggy as hell. When I try to quite to the title screen, the game crashes. The game’s loading screens, I find, take forever, and even once the game starts there is a short length of time were the fps drops really low and I expect the game to crash, but then, all of a sudden  the fps spikes and life goes on lol. I am having one hell of a time with this game on PC (not quite in a good way). Lol

I know the 7870 is getting up there now (I’m planning on upgrading before the Witcher 3 comes out) but it is one of the recommended cards for higher performance in DA:I… Anyway, it seems like there are others in a similar boat as me, perhaps Bioware will be able to patch something to help with loading times etc? I had heard that =DA:I was not optimized for PC, I am starting to believe those people. :(
