I mostly look at reviews on Amazon. To post a review there you have to have bought the product there in the first place. Odds are the reviews are more legit than on Metacritic, which is a joke.

That's totally fair.  (And using a site where someone has to purchase a product is a great idea; it prevents thousands of people from giving 10s or 0s out of loyalty/hatred.)

Yeah, this is one of my new favourite things on the internet.

The fact he pronounces the shitty typing/typos as they stand just adds to the hilarity.

Right.

"I was unable to advance past the prologue because I bought this game for PC but I do not own an Xbox controller. I wasted $60 on a character generator" 5/10!

Yeah that makes sense. No wait. it doesn't. At all. As much as DA:I probably doesn't deserve a 0/10 score, a 0/10 score is justified if the reviewer was unable to play the friggin game through no fault of his own.

I think this is a serious case of l2p going on here. Take some fecking time and learn the controls - or instead please stop playing and leave of its offended you that much.

That won't help. Because there's the 3rd group of reviewers... the PC player who buys the game, installs it, witnesses how gorgeous it is, goes through character creation screen and notices that it's got the best face generator of any game *ever*....and then he starts his adventure.... only to discover that can't play the game any longer because its controls are all sorts of ass backwards messy and unthinkably cumbersome. He is LITERALLY denied the ability to play the game because of a developer design decision.

What then? How should he rate this game on metacritic? Should he be prohibited from giving a review because, of no fault of his own, he was not able to play it? Should he be allowed to review the game but not give it a 0 because he hasn't seen enough of it?

I say No. I would define a 0/10 score as an accurate representation of a game that was unplayable.

That person needs a new brain. Has never heard of remapping keys.

And you should watch some lets plays. There are guys/gals out there who use mouse and keyboard and have zero to no issues.

Playing ESO for the last 6 months or so( since release) and wasn't looking to buy DA :I after DA 2 debacle (I've been playing OLD Bioware games for long time, BG, BG2 , Neverwinter Nights, Mass Effect ,DA played them all and not once), however my ESO guildies were so exited about DA:I and they basicly convinced me to preorder, which I did. Preloaded and was ready to play ,but after playing  just a  tutorial , I went back to 6 month old game (ESO) , because I have much more fun in there. I know it's going to be a story ( David Gaider is good storyteller, I knopw visuals going to be top notch, I know there are some great characters in this game, but gameplay, combat, user interface is so bad that basiclly I cannot play and I wish I could ,because I wanna experience the story  find out what happened to Morrigan or maybe what happened to my warden who married Anora , maybe they found love in the end , but today I am again finding myself logging in into the ESO rather than to DA:I , because I keep saying to myself, it's not really a bioware game, it's more of EA game. It's the way I see things, not trying to say that my opinion is better than somebody who likes this sgame, I do understand that there are different tastes, so please just take it as my personal opinion.

Have mods spoiled people so much that they can't even bother to fix certain issues like simple key remapping themselves?

Simple Key remapping. lol

Ok, You have this game, yes?

Tell me how to remap the "F" key (interact) to the right mouse button so that I can, you know, point and click.

Cannot recall which game I have, but when re-mapping to the RMB, I had to actually use it instead of entering other data. You know that I am Techless, so if this is obvious, pls excuse me.

Here is an example of why Metacritic is a joke. They have zero quality assurance for the actual reviews that are posted. I was reading the user reviews of GTA 5 which even if it isn't your type of game, putting zero is absurd.

For so much money is nothing new. And that is, works very poorly. The graphics are no better than the predecessor to your PS3. So a few times think before taking this clone.

Everyone seems to be posting feedback on the game and not things related to spoilers, so I am using that as my excuse to type this.

Do not, on any grounds, trust the user reviews on metacritic, if you want opinions then pay attention to the genuine criticisms in these forums (some are angry and annoying but a few do give proper feedback) and decide from that if you want the game.

Seriously, there's a reason websites do not get any guy off the street and ask him to review a game, these people are not proper reviewers and have no idea how to score games. There are scores of zero on the pc page for Da Inquisition, whether you are currently enjoying the game or not, it is not worthy of a score under four.

There will be a lot of people on there using it to give the game a bad name because of their hatred for Ea, or because they want to joke. They are anonymous on there, so you can not do anything about their scores.

This is just me giving friendly advice, judge the game on the opinions of mature people on these forums, and of gameplay videos and reviews (yknow, the ones done my people who review games for a job)

Do not trust metacritic, if someone slightly dislikes a game on there then they give it a one or two most of the time, and most of the reviews are either, one: based on personal opinion or two: done by people who moan and would make terrible reviewers.

Sorry, but I based my "buy, not buy" decision for DA 2 on the feedback on these forums, and when I finally broke down and bought it due to boredom with my library, I was rather disappointed with myself. So much so, in fact, that I based my "buy, not buy" decision on ME 3 on the Ending Outcry. Which means I used it as an excuse to buy and play the entire series.

The moral of your story should be: Never base your decisions on game forums, ever. The BSN is no better than Metacritic, or any other game forum for that matter. If you like the game, and it's against "popular opinion", you're a White Knight. If you don't like the game, and it's against popular opinion, you're a troll, and should just go away. The problem being? You can have one thread of each variety, bouncing back and forth on the same forum, fighting for the 1 and 2 slots on the main page. So which opinion on Inquisition should one base their decision on here?

The PC crowd is pretty vocal that the control scheme sucks for PC, so much so that we have a BioWare post stating that they are aware, and are looking into it. So, if I take your advice, as a PC gamer, I should wait to buy it until all of it has been patched, and if the things that most bother me about problems that the Devs have admitted to won't be patched, it's a "don't buy"? Might as well have taken Metacritic at face value then, eh?

Are we going to have the "Take Back" movement in reverse now? You know, people that deliberately went to places like Amazon and gave positive reviews negative feedback to try and prevent people from buying ME 3.
