Seriously Bioware!? Almost every hair style (cept for the balding ones), go great for female characters, but look like total garbage on males. They literally copy/pasted the female hairs onto the men. Men with long hair, do not have that kind of volume, nor do they have those kind of styles.

I spent hours in the character creater, not because of "how great" it is, but because the hair styles suck. I had a theory, so I went back and made a female character and... Oh look! Every hair style looks great on em. Gee, it's almost like they designed everything based around the female model... huh, imagine that.

 

Sorry Bioware, but you're not forcing me to play a female character.

I'm assuming it was all the "******" cuts. Yeah, they are ****** cuts, but they still look like they "fit". If you're going for a butch woman, it goes well with it. The female hairs (since lets face it, the men DO NOT have their own hairs) do not look right on the men.

I'm really happy with my male character's chin-length hair.

It was about the balding patterns present in most styles, which are much more frequent on men, and have nothing to do with whether a woman is "butch".

I kept losing game time, by going back to the character creator, and I couldnt quite pin point what I hated, until it hit me. All my hair choices are straight/lesbian female hairs!

All the hair is bad. I think there's a huge preference for typical male hair in the CC.

'Straight/lesbian female hairs'? I wasn't aware there were sexuality-specific hairstyles.

 

I'm glad BioWare made all hairstyles available for men and women. More CC freedom.

Some of them were likely made this way. At the same time though some were clearly made in the reverse manner -- designed for men and then copied on women. So I don't think your claim how "they designed everything based around the female model" is accurate. A.k.a yeah, you're wrong.

All the short hairstyles are made for man, with little doubt. That's why there are all the baldie and buzzucuts (almost half of the total hairstyles.) than the few longer choices are clearly more feminine.

 

Is the reverse to have all the hairstyles for everyone. The more feminine hair sre few and relegated to just longer hairstyles. That make sad both parts.

Male would like longer hairstyles but less feminine, but there aren't any, and female would like feminine short styles that, surprise surprise, aren't there. No good bangs and chin lenght hairstyles with cute braids, no longer pixie cut hairstyles like Hawke's or Cassandra.

main thing that bugs me is that right now hair looks like a steel helmet the way the reflection graphics are right now..  looks fine in cut-scenes.. and its not just me.. others on youtube have posted the same thing.

Agreed, I found feminine hairstyles to be extremely lacking. I ended up going with the default hairstyle for Head 1 for Human Females because there are not other "long hair" styles that frame the face like that. They're all pulled back. Qunari I can understand with the horns being the more defining feature but female Human hair options are too geared towards being masculine.
