Is there any way to quickly swap which weapon I'm holding/using between bows and daggers? I'm a rogue and would like to be able to swap without going into the inventory screen every time.
Appreciate it.

No, they didn't implement weapons swap like in Origins
I want to like this game so much... and it's got a lot that it does well... but HOLY CRAP I just do not like the combat at all. I dislike it so much that I dread even getting into battle. It's just messy and clunky and feels too much like MMO combat instead of deep, team based, tactical combat (tac camera doesn't help things). But if you're going for something lighter and more action oriented, why not at least give us the options we need to enjoy that!? Like the ability to swap weapons on the fly?!
So wait here's a question. I'm a rogue archer. If I purchase skills from the dagger tree, can i not use these unless I have a dagger in my hand?

Well err you pick dagger skills, what else do you expect to use dagger skills with? a spoon?
no you can't, this isn't skyrim, it's class based, rogue - daggers or bows. warriors sword and board or 2h. And mage.

ohhhh trick question, lemme phone a lawyer first ![]()
What if you have dagger skills and bow skills?
Well you choose what you want to go into combat with. You can swap except in a battle
Right, so I can't open with a bow at range and then switch to daggers when the enemy closes.Well you choose what you want to go into combat with. You can swap except in a battle
That's correct. You'll have to decide before you engage

Class based doesn't mean what you think it means. Many class based games, such as DA:O, the first game in the series, allow characters to switch weapon sets on the fly.

Funny, but you missed the point. I understand that you need daggers for a dagger based skill, but what I am asking is if the game auto equips daggers when you choose to use said skill or are those skills greyed out on your skill bar until you go into the inventory, equip daggers, then exit back to game.
Not a big deal if there was quick swap button like so many other RPGs.

I just....can't...even...
From the way the skill trees look, you'd be better off using some of your evasive skills, like dodging away and using a volley of arrows on the enemy that was after you. Then follow this up by cloaking to get some range again. Knowing the way this works, I'll probably fill out bows, and then take a mix of Sabotage and Subterfuge.
I do kind of miss the quick swapping, but I can live with it as long as the game is this good.

I think we have a different idea of what a class based system is. In fact I'm having a hard time thinking of an RPG that makes this combat feature (as well as many others) so difficult and needlessly complicated. Why can't a warrior swap between sword and board and 2h, why can't a rogue swap between daggers and bows. All of those options are still very much within the parameters of the given class. Mages can swap between their different schools of magic and yes I know that seems very different, but it's not when you really boil it down. It's a matter of adding combat options to increase the tactical gameplay in a fun, intuitive way.
Right, so I can't open with a bow at range and then switch to daggers when the enemy closes.
Or switch back to a bow when the enemy flees... nothing felt better than putting an arrow on an enemy's back.
I miss this feature so much ![]()
I just....can't...even...
"You just...cant'...even..." understand what I'm trying to say or hold a conversation without being a smartass??
I may have done a poor job of fully spelling out what I meant, but surely if you read the rest of the thread you'll get a better understanding. I assume if you have the time to post useless smart ass replies, that you'd also have the time to educate yourself on this issue that I'm obviously not alone finding a bit odd. If a game doesn't give you a quick swap button for weapons like SO MANY other RPGs, it should at least fudge it a bit by letting you use those skills (automatically putting daggers in your hand while you perform that special action).
That's just an example though to further explain my question.. Basically they just need an quick swap button for weapon sets. It's so fundamental.
