How do we do this? I get pause, but how do slow mo? how do you move forward slowly so you can see what will happen?

You can only do slo-mo in tactical mode, I know that. I'm still figuring tactical mode out though, so I can't offer more specific help.

i tried to do it with mouse and keyboard controls also but there is no option, plugged in my controller and in tact cam view theres an option to hold down a button to advance time maybe advancing time is only available with controller.

Bioware thinks people who use a mouse and keyboard are inferior so shouldn't get so many options.

"Advancing time" just means "Unpause". It's a little odd that tac mode with the controller is permapaused except while holding the trigger, but the play speed is the same when triggered as on a PC unpaused.
I suppose you can get a slow motion effect by repeatedly pausing and unpausing, or tapping the trigger and releasing. Other than that, I'm not aware of any "slow motion" mode in any control scheme.

This game needs documentation.

I completely agree with you, Sylvius. Who though mapping jump to the space bar was a good idea? I now start every combat by jumping up in the air and cursing. I'm going to try slo-mo again now that I've had a bit of sleep. I'll update if I have any luck.

I rebound all the controls before I ever started the game. I always do.I completely agree with you, Sylvius. Who though mapping jump to the space bar was a good idea? I now start every combat by jumping up in the air and cursing. I'm going to try slo-mo again now that I've had a bit of sleep.
Pause is SPACE.

There is a difference surely because on the PC you can't advance time at all in tactical mode - you are always paused. Or am I mistaken? Is there some way to "play" while in tactical mode?

How close can you get to Origins and DA2 controls for mouse and key board? this auto attack **** is killing me. i stand there swinging while the mob flees and laughs. ill get over the collecting loot thing but the combat is NOTHING like the first two!!!!

I went into this game expecting the combat to be totally different, but this game would be easier with slow mo. Being able to view what happens slowly and adjusting based on enemy movements would be awesome.

Control (by default, should be remapped to space) pauses and unpauses the game, regardless of whether you are currently in tac mode or not.
Pressing T or maxing zoom out will enable tac mode and will also pause, but you can unpause and repause normally with control (remapped to space!) while in tac mode.

It took me 30 hours of gameplay to figure out i could unpause tac mode. Go figure.

People have problems with lack of auto attack in the game? Have you ever played a Diablo game, or similar type? Cause attacking functions exactly like them.
I never had an issue with enemies running from my Reaver, just have Grappling Chains, or a stun for whn they start to flee.
