I've just finished the prologue. I'll post my otherwise overwhelmingly positive impressions elsewhere, but I thought I should give an account of the PC Keyboard/Mouse controls here.

Bottom line: PC controls and tactical camera on PCs have the potential to be very good - if a few things are fixed that make them extremely awkward to use in certain circumstances at this time.

How the keys are used to move around in tactical view takes some getting used to, but you learn them fast, and zipping around on the battlefield in tactical camera will soon become second nature. Outdoors, that is. The camera's inability to zoom through roofs make it extremely awkward to use in low buildings or caves. That's the first thing that absolutely needs to be fixed - and I say fixed rather than changed because it's an objective flaw, neither a matter of learning nor of preference. Bioware, this is a really big thing. Please fix it.

The second thing that needs to be changed is a missing very important feature - a move-and-interact command. Guessing where you need to stand for interacting with an object - and attacking empty air if you don't stand near enough - that is no fun. By the absence of a move-and-interact command, unnecessary tedium is added to a common activity like looting. Meanwhile, the absence of a take-all key has had no impact whatoever for me.

Quite a few other common complaints, however, are simply matters of learning. When I reached the end of the prologue, I had already become quite proficient at moving the tactical camera around on the battlefield, and the fight was fun and actually rather easy on Normal. The management screens work well so far, only the skill trees I'd rather have downsized a bit. IMO there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to see a complete tree on your screen.

As for the camera centering and zooming in on the character if you select them, that should be toggleable since it can be as useful in some situations as it is annoying in others.

All in all, so far the PC controls have not prevented me from having fun with DAI, but I admit I dread the next boss battle that will take place in close quarters.
