Up until Skyhold he is trying to Protect Hawke by misleading others about Hawkes identity and whereabouts.
Easily discounted as Varric protecting his friend

My keep is correct yet I received a lovely surprise of a male Hawke who killed Anders....Even though my play through was a femHawke who romanced Anders and let him live so this is quite irritating. I suppose I'll have to reload another world state and try again, but if I do so and I still get stuck with maleHawke that'll be so disappointing.

I played through the game once with no problems with the exporting. I'm now on my second game with a different export and my Hawke is now a male. I used the same saved Hawke character for both world states.

Yeah I just got this using a custom setup. Really has disappointed me and I've pumped too many hours in to restart. ![]()

I have same trouble, i did play dao and da2 at ps3, but now i start dai at pc...
So, i bought games again and finish both parts with addons(i wasn't be sure is ps3 world ok for pc world, so), i always play female.
I create a new character and import world stage for da keep.
And...found out that when anyone speak about previous parts, they speak like my heros was be male, i was wonder why but now i met hawke and HE is male. pfff (. .*)...
Inquisition by itself i do finish several times, but now want play with imported world (- -)...

My Hawke was always a female, I imported it that way as well. So all the Hawke cutscenes were fine for me with Hawke in them.

Well, you are lucky then.
I now will try create new character again (hate creating characters) and if hawke again will be male, than will kill him with no regret.

What line is it he's confusing hawke's gender?
"I knew the guy who blew up the Chantry?" Because that would be Anders, not Hawke.

Just to be sure am I doing anything else wrong about the import when I make Hawke, cause I want him to be a girl
After fixing everything, do you remember to export his character in the keep? Otherwise, it may show customed content but the world is still default.

I exported my World State from the Keep into DAI and my HoF ended up being a Male Dwarf Noble instead of a Female Elf Mage. In my game and in the Keep, my HoF was a Female Elf Mage. Everything else about the World State has been correct. Hawke was Female Rogue. Connor was alive and not posessed. Alistair and Anora rule Ferelden. Loghain joined the Grey Wardens, etc. So, apparently the Keep is still a bit buggy. Since my HoF is wrong, I am actually glad we don't get to see the HoF in DAI. if we did and if it was optional, I would choose not to bother.

You customize Hawke's look right before you see him/her. Hawke's gender is determined by the import. You don't get the option of customizing Hawke if you are using the default state. So if you have never gotten the option to customize Hawke appearance then odds are high that your import messed up somehow (probably issues with accounts associated with your Origin account). What's the part where u get to remake Hawke, because I have replayed the game over 3 times an Hawke is a guy no matter what, and it says I imported successfully , so I was try to find out what point of the fame do u customize hawk

If the import is working properly, you should be getting a time stamp for when the world state was last edited and it shouldn't say default. When u import from dragon keep to Dai, does it say custom world or does I say default no matter what u do

This doesn't guarantee that the import is working properly. My date and time stamp, in-game, matched what was in The Keep, but I still had an incorrect HoF in my game. Details are in my post, in this thread, above. So, it looks like Bioware still has some work to do regarding The Keep. At least my Hawke was correct (Female Rogue)...
