So I always seem to end up with this problem in these games.  My character looks great in the create section and then turns out to be all weird looking when I see him/her speaking and interacting with other characters.  That bothers me, so I start getting annoyed by the protagonist, instead of bonding with him.  This really diminishes my enjoyment.

Without restarting, is there a way to tweak the appearance after the game starts?  DA2 had that mirror thingy.

Thanks!

Yes, please, is there a way to do this? I thought I was creating a handsome elf, but I wound up with Alfred E. Neuman.

Thanks.

This happens to me in almost every game ever except DA:2 because of the mirror.. Which I visit after almost every mission. I will never understand the mind of a dev when it comes to the lack of post-creation customization.

Here's hoping they either add something real soon or maybe the modding community makes something.

I would hate to start over after 8 hours of playing because the concave on my cheeks is off.

Not 8 hours but a couple and I can't stand how awful I look sometimes out of Character Creation

Yes, a mirror like in DA2's Black Emporium DLC would be quite welcoming. In fact, I actually dont mind paying 10-15 bucks for something like that.

Failing that at least they should have allowed us to save our customized character for future reference.

I really wish there were a way. I've restarted a few times already, but now I'm 20 hours in and really want to make a few tweaks.

It's really fascinating that they didn't include what was about the one universally loved feature in DA2.

If I were more bitter than I am I would say that you're likely not alone in this and that the folks at Bioware do know their audience well...

I wonder if they thought people would demand to change their race as well as their facial features and jut scrapped the whole thing rather than only letting you change your face and hair. Either way, my male elf has had lipliner, a slightly too long face and slightly strange eyes that took several hours to really get me annoyed with them and now it's too late to go back T_T

Well, I'm happy to see that I'm not alone...

For me, I think it's back to a restart.  Fortunately, I'm only about 40 minutes in so it's not a big loss..  but still.. I think this should be a must-have feature.  I'd even be happy with some sort of a "potion based" solution like they have for a respec.

I would love a way to tweak appearance.  I just really want to darken my character's eyelashes and tone down the eyeliner.  The character creator really does need better lighting.

We need something like "ID codes" from ME.That way we can always get face we once created back and work on it.

Yes, this is a must for every game with a face generator....but nobody ever does it.

At the very least it would be have been nice to keep the "Face Codes" they had from Mass Effect....since they are using an upgraded version of Mass Effect's face generator.

Its a quibble, but it does knock some value off the game.

Also it would have been nice if the default faces didn't look like they were all beaten with the ugly stick.   At least it would have been easier to appeal to my shameless vanity.

I get the makeup looking just right in CC, then I step into the real world and my Inq looks like a hooker with a manly haircut.  They need to bring that mirror back ... and get some better hairstyles.

I did hear a couple of the devs/producers/whatevers, during one of the pre-launch twitch streams, mention the potential addition of some sort of post-creation customization at some point in the future. I believe there is a strong probability that it will eventually get added in, it's just that Maker knows when...

Yes.

I have already restarted many times due to my character looking very weird out of the creation screen, but now I am wary of even just making a decent character and then waiting for some post-creation customization due to the bugs I'm hearing about incorrect imports.

So far, I've only gotten as far as finishing the prologue before going "I absolutely despise my character".

Dark blonde hair becomes ginger outside of the character creation and lips always have a perpetual shine on them by the default lip setting for guys, and those are just 2 of my gripes.

Keep a notebook as you go along of the CC choices you make, then figure out what you like and what needs to be changed in the CC when you reroll.

That way you an replicate the good characteristics.

I also found the stranger they look in the CC the better they look in-game.

It would've been nice if you could rotate the character (like LOTRO or Neverwinter).  Without a side portrait it's hard to really tell how much things jut out like forehead, cheeks, etc.

At the very least we should get something like KoA's mirrors, where you could change hair, tattoos, make-up etc even if full scale facial tweaking wasn't possible.

Some advice, if I may?

Keep a notebook of your CC choices, so that when you restart you can recreate what you liked and change what you hated.

Something like Eyes - style second from the left, blue fourth option from the left, centre and top of grid.

Also, the wonkier your character looks in the CC, the better they tend to turn out in-game.

Good luck!
