If only they were actively participating instead of only caring about console sales and hoping the PC players will just quit and go back to League of Legends.

The tactical camera with a mouse and keyboard is...

The rest of the controls with a mouse and keyboard is...

Glad Bioware is looking into it, we need it fixed!

I'm tryng very very hard to enjoy this game, honestly.    But  unfortunately the interface is just plain horrid, even on the controller.  And I am doing my best not mention things like class locked equipment, no attribtues and do nothing inquisition perks that simply make it harder to knock you off your horse or unlock conversations options.   You only get 11 of those inquisition perks or so, do we want spend what mount up to a third of them just to unlock conversations?  Make these perks STRATEGICALLY SIGNIFICANT.

I will also not mention using thrones and mounts as if they were achievements, if you are going to add them have them blend into the game world seamlessly, not just pasted in for convenience or just another thing to unlock..  If you can't do it right, don't do it at all.

I ask the community to pray with me that God will give me the strength to persevere through this thick jungle of madness to find a decent game at the core.

And this is coming from an atheist.

Everything you just said. I've had enough. If I could get a refund I would. I'm done with this game and Bioware until something is done.

I'd be surprised if we got a patch this month. But I dunno, stranger things have happened.

Yes its disappointing that the only response has been a token "We are listening to your feedback" type of post.

The game went gold on October 31 so they should have been working on the PC UI for going on 3 weeks now...but yeah since there was no day one patch, there isn't likely to be a patch until sometime in December.  Shitty, they should not have released the PC version in its current state.

Sure am glad they spent that extra delay time on the important things like making dwarf/qunari sex scenes and romance with bald elves.

This is a great point.

This was a stupid use of time when the PC controls, UI, and camera are so horrendously broken.

Lets hope the camera angles were not setup by anyone who had something to do with the PC port or else the camera will have you looking at a close up of dwarven scrotum but it wont even get that right and half will be off camera.

1. You cannot stealth while in tactical mode otherwise the character keeps auto-attacking immediately, making stealth-based abilities a pain to micro-manage. If I stealth or use any ability that puts me in stealth my character should STOP auto-attacking in tactical mode.
2. No auto-attack in "regular" mode.
3. The tactical cam has several functionality problems:
       1. Does not zoom out far enough
       2. Cannot look "up" when you zoom out with it. This is extremely frustrating.
       3. Snaps to selected characters
       4. Gets stuck against rocks, walls, elevated terrain.
       5. There is no way to turn off the tactical-information popups that appear when you've selected to attack an enemy while in tactical mode. They are blocking where my main tank and my rogue is because of how large they are. If I need information about an enemy in detail I will just over my mouse over the enemy. I do not understand why we can't toggle this popup thing off in tactical mode. There is no option to toggle it off.
       6. Tactical mode needs only a button hotkey. The scroll wheel should not put you into tactical mode, because for the people that want to play without it, its a hindrance.

4. Cannot allocate attribute points. I want my own customization, thank you bioware. I do not own a console and I am not 14 years old. It also eliminates the potential for different kind of builds but basically you stripped us of that freedom.
5. The lack of options to tweak our characters A.I is practically non-existent compared to previous dragon age titles. You may as well call it like it is, it basically doesn't even exist anymore and its annoying because the current a.i are dumber than tree stumps (case in point: Reread problem #1 in this post).
6. Willpower doesn't say if it actually increases mana or not.
7. I have no way to actually see what my actual mana or stamina number is during combat (as an actual number, not a BAR).
8. Cannot equip a different weapon while in combat. Sometimes my rogue just can't withstand certain AoE enemies on nightmare mode and I would like to use the character in some way rather than having it sit there do nothing, but I cannot change my weapon during combat?? Terrible.

I don't really have any performance issues or graphical problems but I'm using a gtx 980 and the card is so powerful when overclocked that I can't really tell if the performance is good or bad or should be better than it is.

Right now in my opinion #1 priority should be overhauling this tactical cam, because in its current state it is awful. Get to the rest of these major problems after the tactical cam is in a playable state. Right now, its not.

(English is not my native langage so please excuse all the mistakes I will surely make in this post, but I have to say something about PC controls).

I'v been playgin the game for two hours and I find myself unable to continue. Tactical view is basically unplayable. Autosnap on the character I select ? No pop-up describing the skill you choose? No moving camera when you hit the border of the screen ?

I'm sorry Bioware, I loved you but you lied when you promised me a game with a "tactical view". The tactical view that I love so much in DA:O has nothing in common with this sad joke. Hell, I played around 80 hours of Divinity : Original Sin recently and they managed to do a REAL tactical view, enjoyable to play with and not clunky, without the experience of making games such as Baldur's Gate or DA:O. OK it's a low blow but god damnit you had it coming by releasing such an unpolished game on PC, Bioware.

Honestly I feel betrayed, I was waiting so much for DA:I, I wanted it to be a great game. Now I'm sitting on my brand new graphic card (that I bought especially for your game Bioware, yes I was ready to dive in), waiting for a patch that could let me play that game the way I want. I'm not even angry I'm just f*** sad.

Unfortunately Goulaon, Bioware has been doing this to their customers ever since EA took over.  When they made Baldur's Gate they had no EA looking over there shoulder.  When they made DA:O, again, they had no EA looking over there shoulder.

Certainly EA owned Bioware at the time DA:O was released, but by then DA:O was so far along in devlopment that even EA couldn't interfere with it.  Unfortunately, ever since EA got their hands on BIoware it went to crap, as did so many other companies they bought.

Well, that's enough of that.  Let us not turn this into an "I Hate EA Thread", although things like this, when they blatantly and knowingly screw over the PC community,  does very little to curb that feeling.

I for one hope they patch it.  But given how bad the controls are it would take a very very large patch to fix it up.  And I honestly doubt EA would want to put the resources into it.

On the other hand they released free patches adding ghost, pools and swimwear to the SIms 4 after its release, so I guess time will tell.

The worst part (apart from the fact that this is all broken in the first place), is that you can't even rebind mousebuttons properly to try and fix some of the problems yourself.

Especially tactic mode. I cried and tried to control my heroes.

I think that people needs something like this.

1) Right-click on the ground to move.

2) Right-click on enemy to move + autoattack.

3) Do not start attack on left-mouse-click on the ground.

4) In tactic mode more camera oprions. Like camera-moving on touching border of screen.

5) PLEASE detach aim from center of screen in tactic. Its so horrible.

^ Please do this I haven't bought the game because this makes me worried.

EA definitely seems to be the factor that changed Bioware from being a company whose every game was awesome, into an also ran company churning out crappy console ports that feel and play like licensed movie games.

This game on the PC is an embarrassment.

Agreed, Controls are really bad for the PC.

Let's be honest here. Those controls are not for the PC.

Here's how the game just "worked" for me just now: .....

This is pretty much my exact same experience (but with added tree branches as I haven't been inconvenienced by them yet).

Don't forget how the mouse sometimes stops working in conversations so you have to use the number keys from the keyboard instead.

I want to love this game. I really do. Unfortunately the way the game is designed to be played really isn't making it very easy for me.

Ok, I have no comment about the Tactical camera, because I haven't gotten a chance to even play with it...because I've been too busy trying to figure out how to move properly without running into walls and off ledges.

No more point and click? Really? I want to....go over there. A SIMPLE thing in any standard RPG, yes? But no, I can't just click on the spot and have my character go to that spot. Oh no. I have to hit "W" ...but only if my destination is exactly straight ahead. If not (and it usually isn't...have you seen the terrains in this game?), I have to Hit "W"....then "A" then....wait, my character has hit a giant boulder and is marching in place, trying to walk through it. <sigh> Ok, I hit "D" to start moving in the opposite direction....but I need to go forward now. "W" again....then "S"....then "W"...then "D" for just a bit.

Oh crap, there's a Shade attacking Cassandra. I rush to the shade....er try to rush to the shade....."W"....er..."S"...er... a combination of "W", "S", and "D" and....I'm there.... Now If I can just figure out which button I have to press to attack the shade before the fight's over.

Note to Bioware: when moving is a minigame, you've Failed.

No, I'm not going to endure 100 hours of this. You Bioware fans wonder why some players on Metacritic are giving this game a 0? Yeah, THIS is one clear reason why. If I can't play a game that I bought, then I'm going to rate it a 0.

Dear Yrkoon, from what I can make out the following works.

Step 1: Press & hold W.

Step 2: Click and hold the right mouse button while pressing W.

Step 3: Turn//Aim with the mouse while moving forwards.

Currently that's the best I can come up with.

You can also try turning on auto-run, default G, which negates the need to hold down W.

The controls in this game are so awful. I wonder if it's possible to get my money back at this point. If it's not patched soon... and the alternative, which is buying a gamepad and seeing if that is any better, doesn't appeal to me.

I was against buying this game for so long and I caved....

Well, I'm glad Origin has a refund function, because bye. I might re-get it if the controls are ever fixed.... We'll see.

The biggest question I have is how did this game get such good reviews on gaming sites. I'm more mad at them for not bringing these issues up, then the game being bad. If I knew it was bad I woudn't have bought it. But I feel lied to by sites like IGN ect... But then again I see all these comments on facebook saying how much people love the game. I don't understand, unless the game is better on console, and would that mean playing the game on PC wih an xbox controller be better? I'll never buy a game from Bioware again without reading the forums first.

Don't forget that Mass Effect 3 had great reviews too.   So it brings to mnd the question.....were these great reviews bought?
