Had a spotty internet connection last night so really didn't get a chance to dive too much into MP and just ended up playing SP for a few hours.  I'm still getting used to the combat controls, but after clocking in about1000 hours in ME3MP, the DAI controls feel really awkward by comparison.

 

The first thing I did was change WASD back to movement - I have no idea what was going on w/ combining that w/ camera, but is, is there a way to remove holding down RMB for mouselook? (even if that means manually editing an input settings file).  I basically want have a third person camera view. Heck, it'd be nice for most cases to toggle auto-targeting  (to just targeting by LoS).

 

Anyway, also just wanted to hear what people are doing for their KB/mouse controls, and what the Q & E keys might be good bindings for.

From a fellow ME3 1k hours, it's freaking confusing I'd say, I keep pressing E to roll

I get that targeting AOE spells might be weird with the Mass Effect controls at first but I'd still take it over that freaking camera. Don't get me wrong, it's the best view for single player when you pause the game to issue commands, but for MP instant action it's pretty hard to master in real time. Been playing all day and I've died more often because of the camera and controls than because of anything "legitimate". When difficulty is not about the enemies, something isn't right...

As for what to do with it? Well, I haven't found the magic formula. Mobility is pretty bad, I keep failing at kiting enemies, the targeting isn't easy for AOE spells and reviving is atrociously far from being snappy. If I didn't hate controllers so much I'd probably switch to one. It will probably get better the more you use the controls, eventually it's gonna make sense somehow I guess.

Can you remap any mouse keys, besides just reversing preset right/left buttons (interacting/attacking)? I just played MP for the first time, and I couldn't do anything but that. Don't know if my game was glitching, or did I have too many beers or I am just an idiot (or any combination of those), but it would very odd if it wouldn't be possible to utilize more than two mouse buttons in a game like this. Also I could imagine a lot better use for a right/left button than interacting. All this isn't "a part of difficulty", and they are going to fix these, right?
