Some things are impossible regardless, believing otherwise is speculating especially when expecting answers for things beyond humanity's grasp or the laws of nature.
Beyond humanity's grasp or laws of nature? Scientists aren't dealing with the supernatural here. They experiment. That's why science demands empiricism.
Just because the origin of life remains unsolved mystery doesn't mean they can't attempt to recreate a picture based on our understanding of biochemistry. Inquiry doesn't equate to futility.
