annoyed by all the whiners on this forums some performance issues etc. were expected its basically like that for

every game lately (just look at Unity at least we don't have to live with that ****)

But apart from that I'm trying to get distracted by watching anime but its not working I want to play the game...NOW (still have to wait till Thursday sadly)

What anime are you watching? Maybe I could recommend one? Bokurano is pretty good, for instance. It's a short series and totally amazing.

That's quite a hobby!

Time travel is all the rage here in EU, you know ;)

really hope you're talking about Assassin's Creed: Unity, and not your life. XD

I am indeed talking about ACU :P

Considering how terrible Unity is, I kinda hope they're talking about their life...

Unity isn't that bad on PS4. I've had one bug where I fell through the floor and one serious framerate drop, other than that it's basically just more AC with reworked parkour/combat systems and coop. And I still love the AC series, so I'm getting my monies worth :)

I'm trying to be patient while avoiding spoilers. I have plenty of other games I should be playing to completion, so I try to keep my mind off Dragon Age with Alien Isolation and Guild Wars 2. It's working pretty well so far. I keep thinking about how great it'll be getting home on Friday morning and knowing I have 3 days free to play as much as I want.

People should be ignoring 95% of the feedback from the forums.

Most of it is overblown and exaggerated.

Also most of the time the only people that come online are the people who have nothing but negative things to say because the people who actually love the game are too busy playing it.

As a PS4 player I can honestly say that so far

- Only encountered a single bug that was fixed with a restart

- Looks great

- Combat is fun (I am a Mage)

- Characters are interesting

- Interaction between party members is just as fun as it was before

- Crafting makes me feel much more accomplished when I make my own gear

-  Quests are plentiful

- World feels.....HUGE

Well I hope so but the whiners on the CA forums were vindictated when they whined. I know I keep making comparisons with Rome 2 Total War but that was another game with enormous hype and was a complete disaster on launch, and it took them over a year to make something of the game, and at least there was some level of modding available as well. I can't help but feel paranoid right now, as I am fast losing all hope in the gaming industry, even if I have enough cognitive dissonance to keep persevering. There seems to be too many complainers, and even those not complaining seem little more than content with the game, to be merely a coincidence. I'll have to wait and see I suppose now I've bought it.

PS This is the first time I've ever paid 40 quid for a PC game so I better enjoy it! lol

I disagree. I prefer to take as many perspectives as possible into account. Ignoring 95% of what people had to say about it would be kind of useless. Especially because how am I supposed to determine which 5% to listen to? Everyone who gives it a perfect 10? If I only listen to those people, I might as well have pre-ordered the game on the strength of BioWare's word alone.

I'm perfectly capable of taking people's comments in context. I add more weight to the opinions of people I know, and who play or enjoy games in a similar way to myself, as well as adding weight to those who've actually finished it (which will be a few days, at least, before most have.)

Exactly, you can't just ignore 95%, that's just ridiculous. You're always going to get 5-10% who aren't happy even with the best game in the world, but 95%???

I think the reception has generally been good (I remember the... shirtstorms when DA2 and ME3 were released. There are always naysayers and drama queens, but this release has been sweet as pie by comparison).

That said I'm a PC kb+m player, so I'm a little concerned.

But on the other hand it's good to know in advance to rebind some keys, sort out the frame rate, and cross my fingers for a patch. I don't mind playing a clunky game for a few weeks as long as there's a fix on its way...

Be prepared for bugs and issues if you are getting it for PC.

PC seems to be bearing the brunt of the issues at the moment.

Like a double dose of poo. Because of a series of events, I couldn't go to the midnight launch and no longer have the $60 to buy the game. -_- Poo pretty much describes it.

I do not worry as I do not expect much. Bioware was one of the few studios I preoredred and then there was the unholy trilogy of ME2/DA2/ME3 ( yes I'm one of those). So I stopped preordering and buying DLC to vote with my wallet. Actually I'm more dumbfounded than worried as most of the stuff I heard about the game like "no chest in the castle" or "no auto-attack" do not make sense in a world were people do learn from the past.

Well, now I'm slightly apprehensive about the whole "Playing on the 360" thing. I opted to buy it for the husbot's 360 because I don't really LIKE buying new computers or consoles sight unseen. And yes, I know the internet's good with all that, but I like being able to poke a thing before I drop money on it. And I won't be down south until this summer. Maybe.

That being said, now that I've seen the high drama on the internets regarding how terrible it is, as long as it looks slightly better than Minecraft and runs better than a twenty year old chainsaw with a squirrel inside the engine, I'll probably be pleasantly surprised and pleased!

I think its a bit overblown... the default Key layout seems to be very akward.. but you can easily change that to whatever layout you prefer

the only thing ive heard that i think is true is that Tac Cam is "easier" to use with a controller due to sticks

Then hot diggity do I have a surprise for you.

Runs like a chainsaw powered by FOUR squirrels.

(PS4 player here can't actually speak to the performance I just loved your quote lol)

That's probably product of low expectations, tbh. That and that the most controversial part of ME3 got leaked days early and DA2 was basically a giant argy bargy all through development and there was no reason at all release would change that (I thought ME3 was great and the ending okay - I took a "it's the journey, not the destination" approach to it - and DA2 was painfully average and not at all up to snuff in many ways, so that could be affecting how I remember their releases).

But yes. Honestly the vast majority of complaints seem to be coming from one specific slice of the user base - PC players - and mostly seem to be mechanics issues, rather than perceived inherent problems in the design (which DA2 had a litany of, imo). Which sucks, but is both manageable for now and fixable later.

Extreme anticipation. I've been waiting two years for the game and spent the last couple of months saving money on a high end rig (2160 bucks) that can run the game at max settings. I'm going to get both next week so...HYPER.  :D

I did the same and got mine mid August.   :)

From my experiences never rush out to buy new games until bugs and patches are fixed.  Since this game at the moment isn't moddable it makes it even worse.  I mean with the modding community can fix thing such as badly implemented UI and stuff.  Still waiting to hear how badly the keyboard and mouse is implemented for the PC and see if they will fix it if that is an annoying problem.

A mixture of shock, disappointment, and disbelief that they could stuff it up so badly. I've been waiting for this game since they announced they were commencing production, and for it to arrive with such a disastrous launch is a terrible letdown.
