I have had a bioware account for several years. Now that this site has changed I cannot log in. Each time I do it says that I have to pick a account name, which I do, then it says that the name is aleady taken. Then it asks for me to confirm ownership, which I do.... everytime! This time it kept saying that the name was taken, no matter what I put in. so I choose a new name, and now all of my info is gone and it says that I just signed up. I would like help with this. Also even though I used my account to redeem DLC codes, it never updates my DA:O profile. Any chance I could get any help with this?

Did you have an exisiting EA Account using the same email as your Bioware account? If you didn't before you do now. (As every account on this site has an EA Account associated with it.) The solution is to link your EA Account to your Bioware account at forums.bioware.com before you try and create an account over here. If you login with just your Bioware username it attempts to create an EA Account if there wasn't one linked to it already, and then it chokes because there's already an account with the same email.
Since you're at the point where you have two accounts, you need to be careful not to lose your DLC. If you talk to EA Support they may be able to merge the accounts/transfer content for you.
If you had no content redeemed you could also delete both accounts here, link your forums.bioware.com account to your EA account and then start the account creation process over here again. But what happens to any DLC redeemed in that case I don't know.

well I went ahead and deleted both accounts and created a new account, but I could not get the same user name. I linked this account to my EA account. It is frustrating that I have had my BW account since KOTOR days.

I probably shouldn't give advice when I'm sick and its late. Sorry for steering you wrong.

you didnt steer me wrong. The only down side was that I have a different user name now. All the DLC is still there, although I am not sure why. Also now all my DAO acheivements have shown up. I was more concerned about getting this fix before ME2 came out. But anyway, thanks for the help!

You weren't far off. He was pretty much out of options at that point anyway, experience shows.Kepha wrote...

Everything DA:O is tied only to your EA account. In fact, you only need an account on this site to display your uploaded characters/achievements, download the toolset (for PC users), or redeem promotional codes (you don't need an account to buy DLC).cornboxtx wrote...
