I posted this on the main EA forum but I figure I'll post this here to and get maybe get some more answers.

Okay, So I'm buying Dragon Age Inquisition tomorrow for the XBOX 360 (yeah yeah I know). Anyway there's a different account linked to my gamertag that I probably set up years ago and never used. I noticed the problem a while ago but it's never really been an issue since I don't pay for XBOX Live.

Anyway this game doesn't use save imports so I had to set up a world state in the keep. My saved games and the achievements I've earned don't show up as they've been recorded by another account I'm annoyed but I can live with it. (I'd rather change it but I can't figure it out) Is there anyway for me to access my Keep if my gamertag is linked to the wrong account? Additionaly is there anyway I can find out the name of the account linked to my gamertag and change it? Maybe even keep my saves?

edit: Seriously can anybody help me?

Thanks but that's not really helpful I set up the keep on my Origins account. The problem is I apparently have an old account linked to my Gamertag and I don't know what it is.

Ah, then you'll have to contact an EA rep for that - help.ea.com

This is what I did and posted in a different forum. I don't know if it will help but I would try just adding any old emails that you can think of and saying you lost your password, if you have access to those old emails.

Ok I know I'm not the only one having this problem so I thought I would share how I think I fixed my problem with everyone and maybe can save someone the headache I've been going through.

I set up my keep in beta, had everything ready { or so I thought } for a midnight release.  Get home at midnight Monday and play until 0300 in the morning.  Took the day off yesterday to stay at home and play all day.  Around 9pm last night I strike up a conversation with Liliana and ask her if she was friends with the hero of the 5th blight.  She tells me yes she was friends with her but sadly she died killing the archdemon.  Well that was news to me because I was a man and I lived and logain killed the archdemon and Liliana was my romance.  So I knew there was a wrench in the works, somewhere.

After much searching and anguish I think I've fixed my problem.

I found on forums that I needed to make sure my origin account and my xbox live account was linked.  So I new my live email and origin email was different. Why that matters I'm not sure If they are the same I think you can link them easier but you will have to look that up on your own. I did find something on ea's or origins web page that mentioned it but since it didn't apply to me I didn't go any further.

So I had to go to origin and download the client { or just download origin } after that I signed in and in the upper left you can pick add friends or something like that.  Once you pick to add friends a box with come up where you can click xbox live or psn along with a search bar.  I clicked the xbox live button and then you will be prompted to sign in to your xbox live account.  After I did this I got hit with a { this account is already linked to another origin account } box.  So that told me I had 2 origin accounts and that's why the tapestry I had created in the keep didn't link with my xbox live account.

Well I don't have but 2 emails that I use, a personal and a work so I went back to origin and signed in with my work email and then clicked { I forgot my password } to confirm that was the right email.  Sure enough I check my work email this morning and I have the origin email there waiting for me. I change my password and sign in to origin and everything works.

Now I had to go to the keep and sign in from my old account and send a friend request to my new found account.  Then sign into my origin account and accept my own friend request.  Once I was friends with myself I then went back to the keep with my old account and shared my world state with myself on the new account.  Then I signed into the keep with my new account and loaded my shared world state into my old account { the one that is linked to my xbox live account }. Then uploaded it to Inquisition.  Whew that was a headache, I'm still at work so I haven't confirmed that it worked 100 percent but I'm really sure it's going to, because I know what was wrong.

So I guess I just played a long demo past 24 hours, but I guess I'll live with it.  It's but a small price to pay for such a huge game.  I would rather not have to start all over, but hey look at the bright side.  Now I can chose to play as the mage or the rouge instead of second guessing my rouge choice.  I hope this helps someone.

Okay but how do I find the name of the account attached to my gamertag? It's ridiculous that this is so difficult. I've actually put off buying the game until I can get this corrected.

edit: Oh and no dice with the EA help forum I never got an answer and have no idea how to contact thier customer service.

From the forum there should be a way to indicate that you didn't find the solution to you problem.  That will carry to a prompt that will allow you to chat with a rep.  Pretty sure that will be the only way to resolve an account issue.

I've had to you that chat mechanism a couple of times and they are usually fairly helpful, but realize you will start a tier 1 support.

The only way I know of is to have access to old emails.  What you would do then is try to sign in to origin with the old \ alt email address and then click the { forgot password } button and wait for a email to come through.  Without access to the old \ alt emails I don't know if it can be done.

Thanks I tried none seem to work. This is ridiculous that the account locks in the first time you sign in and your not able to change or even see what the account is! So something I did years ago is preventing me from playing the game. I'm really unhappy now, is there anything EA suggests? I bought the game and would rather play it then return it.

edit:Well I found the account matching the email I originally used to set up my Gamertag but the keep isn't working.... Help?

second edit: EA online support was useless and I can't find the number to get in touch with a rep.

Nevermind Customer Support Fixed it and even transfered over my saves. I'm very happy right now.
