Core2 quad CPU Q6600 2.4 GHZ
6 gigs RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 (2gig)
Driver version 344.75
Game is installed on a plug in usb hard drive
Here is what I have done:
Reinstalled game once
Repaired 4 times
Rebooted 6 times
re-launched game at least 20 times
Here is what has happened:
Screen freezes at the "click here to continue" screen since installation. However, after installing the new Nvidia drivers (344.75), I was able to get into the game and create a character. I played for about 5 minutes. At that point I went into the settings and turned up all the graphics to "ultra" to see what my rig could handle. After relaunching, I have not been able to get into the game again. The game again freezes within 15 seconds after arriving to the "click here to continue" screen. The mouse cursor still works and the music continues to play for about 15 seconds before ceasing. The only way to escape the situation is by terminating the game using the Task Manager.
Please help. I have waited so long to get this game.....it is clear there is a bug. any help or work around at all would be wholly appreciated
Update:
Somewhat randomly, I launched the game and quickly hit the "continue" button for my game. miraculously, it loaded and I have spent the last 3.5 hours playing at the "Ultra" setting with no hiccups, slowdowns or pauses. (By the way, Bioware desperately needs to turn down the "shiny surfaces" button. Everyone's hair looks wet.). Interestingly, it was when I tried to log out, when the game took me back to that accursed menu screen that the game froze up on me again, requiring a kill from the task manager.
