ARE YOU ****** KIDDING ME WITH THESE CONTROLS? Spam lf click to auto attack and then stand there while the thing moves? HOLD R???? You took away so much with this and Im not the only one who ran though the first two this month cause I was foaming at the mouth for the third!

too much to list. Loading times are a abortion on a SSD too. The hair choices suck for Male Humans. No more corn rolls?

The main thing is the controls are NOTHING like the first two which MADE THEM the amazing games they are!

Yeah i can't stand how they changed the combat it's so different from dao and da2.  I just ended up using a controller to play its feels way better, they shoulda did like da2 keep pc controls in combat the same and separate from console controls.

If you stay in tactical you seem to auto attack if you order them to attack.  FYI

tact cam when using controller even feels better and more fluid the camera moves and pans way better than kb+m where i have to hold both mouse button down to move the camera, totally bs when they made controller feel better for tact cam than kb+m does, they really need to make a patch to fix pc controls.

The PC port really is a pile of ****. Its remarkable that they managed to make combat even worse than either DAO or DA2. **** consoles for ruining this.

glad im not the only one who agrees. if i wanted to play Skyrim or WoW I would. Dragon Age was so different, unique, and just amazing and the controls are a major part IMO.

I honestly feel like playing Origins again.... until this gets fixed... such a let down after a 3 eyar wait for today.

$20 controllers aren't that expensive if one has dumped 1k+ into a computer, the mkb sucks thou.

I bought an Xbox controler made for Windows and for me the feel for combat is so disconnected compared to keyboard & mouse.I just can't get used to it. Bioware seems to have abandoned keyboard and mouse players in DA:I when it comes to combat..... All that said if they fix the m&k combat IMO this could go down in history as the best video game ever made so far let alone GOY!! Come on Bioware remember you are the masters of the top down m&k RPG combat. Please fix this for your oldest fans!!

How does a controller actually make things better? The only advantage I ever saw in them was that you don't need a desk.

I haven't used one, but I would imagine in large part it has to do with the smoothness of analog control in this type of game.  The characters are clearly designed to move with rotation that can be (and in this case, is) more difficult to precisely control with keyboard and mouse.  If the camera angles are designed to work more in conjunction with consoles than with the generally greater degree of control PC users have over the camera, it's quite possible the controller is superior.

That said, it shouldn't be.  I've felt like a clunky idiot so far, and there's no reason to leave the PC controls in a state where that's the case, even if controllers are the priority.

Ugh...it's an action game, for the next generation !  Duh.

Agreed with the controls.  HORRIBLE.  Combat was much better in 1 and 2.  so now i have to hold left mouse to continually attack, while constantly having to move to the target while it is moving away or getting knocked around (or various other things), and also pressing my hot keys for my abilities.  Come on Bioware.....i guess this will be my last DA game and now i am leery of ME4, might just pass on it until i see how they screw it up before i buy it.

I want to be able to click on my target, and have the character go to him and attack, JUST LIKE BEFORE, and then i can alter tactics and use abilities as needed.  Stop making great game series into action games just because all these kids love CoD and MW these days.  This game feels like a bad console port.....

I was really pissed off when I first started the game, the fact that I had to chase down the enemy and keep holding R to auto attack was so infuriating. Also the fact that you can't click on objects from a distance, you have to freaking be right in front of it. But after playing it for 10 hours I got used to it really quickly. Still a bit annoying though. What I can't get used to is the damn tactical camera. The fact that I have to hold down mouse buttons to drag the camera annoys me to no end (I don't like to use WASD), and that made me play on casual so I won't have to use tactical camera AT ALL.

I ended up changing the control scheme to Dark Souls controls, and fell in love with not using tactical mode on Nightmare.

*** I would encourage everyone that won't be playing the game with these controls head to Origins and get a refund. A $60-$70 game sitting on your computer unused is not serving any purpose besides reinforcing BioWares decisions. Get your money back in the meantime while we wait and see if they change it. ***

** Just sent in for my refund. Hopefully Origin keeps that promise.

Origins Client > Help > Order History > (+) Dragon Age: Inquisition > REQUEST REFUND

For others that want your money back.

The refund has a time limit on it, so if you intend on getting your money back do it soon.

Since I won't be playing it in the current state it is on PC, I will wait and see if they fix the issues. If they do, I will buy it again, but I'm guessing by then at a lower cost, because i don't see this being a quick fix. I purchased the Digital Deluxe version too. Oh well, their loss.

You all have the PC version?  No controller issues? How?  I can tell you that I have the PC version & have a wired 360 controller.  I tried putting it to gamepad in options & it wouldn't work.  I had to use task manager to exit out of the game then go into one of the files to put it back to the keyboard & mouse controls.  I'm no where near the only one this happened to either. The EA/Origin forums supposedly have a workaround but there's more hoops with that then a 3 ring circus.  I hope a patch comes soon to fix this issue, as it stands now I find the keyboard & mouse controls to be a clunky mess.

I'm guessing the IGN person who reviewed it reviewed the console version.

Right now as far as I'm concerned my current play-through is a "find stuff" one, certainly not the real one when I'm almost fighting the game during the combat parts.

You think so? Just takes half a day to get used to the new controls? I mean I was so ****** bummed out last night after waiting and waiting and running through Origins and DA2 within the last month to hold me over for Inquisition. I had to get rid of stupid space bar jump all together... Im just so sad.... I cant see myself with a controller 1ft away from my monitor. Has anyone found or developed a key bind map that is as close to Origins as possible?

I'm actually playing with a PS3 sixaxis hacked to look like an Xbox controller using Xinput Wrapper. Worked first time, no problems at all.

Maybe download the latest controller drivers from Microsoft? http://www.microsoft...ler-for-windows

The game plays quite a bit differently - that's why you can only switch at the menu screen.

Thank you, I think I'm going to be posting my issues with the game in the feedback section, in the hopes that they are addressed...and then request a refund, because I can't play this game like this :(
