hey ya, on the main screen for DAI, the multiplayer option is shaded out and it says i have to wait for it to be dowloaded...
did i miss something?
PS$ Multiplayer says its not dowloaded yet?

I'm having the same issue. The multiplayer option is grayed out, it tells me I have to wait for the game to fully install to play it. I installed it once and got this, took the disc out, deleted the file and the update. Reinserted the disc, reinstalled the game and update and still have multiplayer grayed out.

That was my experience. I had planned on playing the MP as soon as I got in the game, but it wouldn't let me. I resigned myself to creating a character and getting though the prologue. After that, I was able to get into the MP. But of course, YMMV.
