Hello!
First post in the DA Forums, since I got curious when playing DA:O about how did you name your Warden? And what species was him/her?
I named my Mage Elf Mïrt and made him look like a bit young and short to be a stormtrooper a Grey Warden ![]()

First warden was a human fighter named Boon, but my favorite was a dalish rogue named Vahalie.
My first was a human rogue called Neverys.
How I wish I was playing DAO for the first time again.....
Couslands usually have names that fit the theme. Angus/Callum/Hamish/Duncan (until he showed up)/Andrew etc Have never finished the game with a guy so . . .
My canon character is Sorcha Cousland - just jumped into my head. Also Rosalind and Adelaide. Adelaide was a queen's name, my grandmother's and where I live. Eleathea and Haelia also come into play as a ancestral names.
I use Olwen (I can see her on a Welsh hillside with her hair being blown back in the wind) and Gytha (sounds like an old old name and touched with folklore) for my mage.
Elves had an assortment of weird and wonderful names - Pastel, Albany, Cadence, Lullaby - the only elf that made it to the end and married Zev was Keilor, my baby dalish boy.
I try not to think too much about names - just pluck 'em out the air - otherwise (to me) they sound too contrived. ![]()
Farci of course
Cousland - Raven, Evangeline, Natalia, Andreas, Roderick
Human Mage - Lilith, Aidan
Dalish Elf - Elyndiriel
City Elf - Celestine
Dwarf Noble - Theodora
I've never finished an elven mage or a dwarf commoner, so no names for them.
And for fun, I'll throw in my Hawkes: Aidan, Nessarose, Saoirse, Lucius, Saskia, Elspeth, Erzebet, Eira, Bellatrix, Everard.
I did not finish a full play-thru with all of these, but most of them, I did ![]()
Cousland -Aubree, Popi, Nicca, Ophenra plus a lot of others
Human Mage - (Solona) Jeena, Kaya, (males) Karel, Osmin, Mythel plus a lot of other females
Dalish Elf and mage Dalish - Sulli, Reylin, Ulra, Ally plus a slew of others
City Elf - Lunalee, Sissi, Lissa, Rain (male) plus a slew of others
Dwarf Noble - Freesha
Dwarf commoner - Sooki
Mage Elf - Katya, Spice, Yula plus a slew of others
My first DAO character was Katja, a female Dalish rogue. Alistair dropped her like a bad penny upon becoming a king so she ended with US. I'll be using her as one of my DAI imports.

What is he doing in Whiterun?
....
At the time I was doin' this series called..."Imagined" over at The Nexus Mods site.
In that series I envision what the next Dragon Age game would be like.
This was back then, when Skyrim was just being released. I fell in love with it.
So I kinda wish that the next Dragon Age will look like Skyrim.
So what I did was placed Dragon Age characters in the Skyrim env.
It was a fun series. Friends at The Nexus Mods enjoyed the series as well...
Here's another example of the "Imagined" series...

Grey Warden Rosshiro...
Sometimes I called him, Rosshiro The Grey...
Morrigan called him, Rossi...
Here he is. Meet Grey Warden Rosshiro.
You do create some gorgeous artwork ![]()
Following Mad Harridan my DA2 names are all from Euro-royalty - William the Warrior (forgive the alliteration), Richard the mage and Edward (Ned) the rogue. My ladies are Eleanor for mage, Charlotte for warrior and Matilda for rogue.
Thank you kindly. Appreciate it much...
Btw, here is my female Warden.... Tiara Rose....
Among Friends

Kimarous Surana.
Originally chosen because, well, it's my usual handle and "fantasy name for fantasy game" reasons. Wasn't really thinking of roleplaying at the time, although more recently, my handwave excuse is "his dad was from Tevinter."
My alternate Wardens have more mundane names, like Brian Amell and Jone Cousland.
First playthrough - Mage Elf - Nuval
Second playthrough (in progress) - Mage Elf - Kudan

Kudan is a very kool name.
Kudan is a very kool name.
Thanks!! ![]()
I only remember my canon Warden, and I named her Fiona. That was before I read The Calling.
My favourite Warden (and the only one I actually played to the end of the game *cough*) is a Dalish Warrior called Maevena Mahariel, Mae for short.
I keep the default first names. I use to think of names, but the ones given sort of grew on me.
The first character I played was named Elsandria which was a name I had come up with that I had intended for a novel. She was a noble human. From there on in I stuck with the default names because I liked them.
(Human Mage -female) Rebekah
I named my main Warden Norman, after myself.
