Mind if I share?
I first played through Origins knowing nothing about the plot, world, or lore, and wanted to play a human because I thought it would be the easiest way to relate to new things. In the character creator, I sat and thought for ages what to name my character (I just didn't like the sound of Elissa), so I eventually gave up and used my own middle name: Rose. This created some weirdness later on, particularly with the Proving announcer who tried to tell me that a fairly common flower and past tense of a verb is a "burr to pronounce." But that did make me laugh. It also made a certain romance scene make me shake my head.
My boyfriend, on the other hand, is much more... shall we say "creative" about his characters' names. He took an instant liking to the City Elf background, and named him Tabri Tabris. His actual first and last name are almost identical, so this is how he forms bonds with his characters. His orc in Skyrim is Verex gro-Verex. I'm just impressed that he didn't run around in Mass Effect with a poor guy named Shep Shepard.
