my current one is called Louisa Amell named her after the UK X factor 2015 winner Louisa Johnson tried to make her look a bit like her as well. I don't think it's exact but it's probably as close as I could get.

Mine is Elisabeth Amell. I'm very unorignal with names  :D

yeah I just tend to pick a name at random normally. With humans and dwarves I just  tend to go with human names given most dwarves seem to have human names in the game. With the elves I tend to go with Vulcan sounding names and by vulcan I mean Star Trek. With Qunari when I play one I'm thinking I'll likely go Klingon gven the Qunari we meet do seem to have Klingon type names or at least they sound Klingon to me. I only say that as I've not played a Qunari yet on DAI but that's my plan for when and if I do.

My current Daelish mage is called Nyelle, which - according to an elven dictionary, I found (based on Tolkiens works) means Song.

My Dalish rogue is called Lírel, which according to the same source, means Bard (which isfitting, because she is a bard).

My CE rogue is called Taena - a name from G.R.R. Martins 'A Song of Ice and Fire', a character from the later books. I don't liek the character that much, but I love the name. There are a lot of great names in that books and I often use one of them, especially the old english namens, like Janei, Marei - just love them.

My Cousland is called Alighiera - I love the work of Dante Alighieri and since she is a bard too, I found it fitting to name her after that great poet (her dog is called Dante :D ).

For a Cousland, I try to go with a name that oozes nobility like Victoria or Charles.

Sounds more like a priestly name.

For my current run I've gone with Nottingham Cousland, and I made him look a bit like Alan Rickman from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, named the dog Gisbourne, went with the cocky voice, and I'm playing him as a super sleazy noble, going for the double romance with Morrigan and Leliana, and for sure I'll be marrying Anora and becoming king at the end. Reading all his lines in Alan Rickman's style in my head has been pretty entertaining, those bottom of the list options have never been so apt before, giving Wynne grief about being old and so on. much fun.

My latest is Sean Amell, whose dog is named Dragon.  I went with the Mystical voice because hearing a human mage with Fenris' voice (and some of the same or similar lines) amuses me.  Going for Morrigan/Leliana double romance, though we'll see who he ends up with.

I did Elizabeth for my Female Amell, I want to do a Male Cousland playthrough too but I'm not sure on the name at the moment.

I'll share, here are my 5.

City Elf - Nemea

Dalish Elf - Tali  (I like a little cross over, I have a Shep named Cailan)

Human Noble - Emma

Dwarf Noble - Morven  (Scottish girl's name, I liked the sound of Morven Aeducan for some reason).

The only guy is a human mage.  Haven't played him yet but he'll be called Grey.  I like that name for guys and have used it before, but it took a few beats before I realised he'll be Grey the Grey Warden.   :D

Because of the future Divine? That doesn't really matter.

Same name - mines Elisabeth Amell. My Male Cousland was Brendan Cousland. Cause Brendan means 'Prince' and I like that.

My human nobles (I play Origin exclusively as human nobles :v) were called Tristan, Daelan and Gawain. I think arthurian names suit Couslands.

A good old Welsh name, I like that.   May use it myself.

My canon went with the default name.

I do it on even my "non canon".

The only one I feel compelled to change is elf male mage (Auran instead of Alim.... wtf is Alim). My first ever Warden was Ronan Cousland though.

I don't like the default names they are too shallow for me.

My non canon warden name was Solas just to give the WTF moment to Flemeth!

I like a lot of them actually.. just not that one (male mage elf).

In retrospect, I don't like CE male either. Sounds too much like Dorian Pavus now. Darrian Tabris :P

I believe it is yes :) . I think it might mean 'Lion', maybe I'm making that bit up though by accident.

I might need to use this myself, for a City Elf playthrough perhaps.  I think it does mean "Lion" or something along those lines.

Agreed, I very very seldom (if ever) use default character names for any RPG.  It makes the character feel more personal when I get to name them.
