Four of the Red lyrium deposits you need to destroy for this quest are in a cave in the Storm Coast. I can't seem to find a way to get to them. The cave entrance is closed off with a door that is not interact-able. Anyone able to finish this quest?

I'm having the same issue, the door won't open and there isn't even an option to open it to begin with.
Same here.
Once you get a certain quest it will open up a route.
Okay .. good .. I see the cave and have been trying to find another way over there to no avail... anybody know what quest/requirements are needed to open it up?
Okay found the info.
First off there will be a quest on the War table at Skyhold to investigate a dwarven port on the Storm Coast, when its complete the side quest 'Red Water' starts which will give you access to the area. (FYI the quest has recommended level 13-15+)
Thanks. Man, I just spent 2 hours trying to find a way around.
Okay, so now I made it into the cave and destroyed 3 out of the 4. One of them is locked behind a door that requires a Red Templar Key. I looted every Red Templar in the cave and searched everywhere, but still couldn't find the key. Anyone completed this?
Edit: Nvm, found it on a corpse near the entrance to the tunnel.
This kind of stuff is slightly annoying and not very "open world" - it'd be better if one could enter the cave and then get their lvl 7ish butt spanked by the lvl 13-15 mobs.
Then you would know, yes, I can get in there...just not yet, instead of wondering WTF is going on.
It's also screwy that you get a quest like "seeing red" and have no way of knowing that it could take 10 levels before you can finish it. Bit epic for a seemingly trivial side quests.

DAI isn't a "open world" game, its not supposed to be Skyrim 2.0, its still a Dragon Age game just with larger environments
I've opened the cave door and found the red Templar key. I come up to a bridge that is broken and see no way around it. How do I get past this part?
Edit:found small opening marked with a skull wearing a bandana painted on right of cave near fallen rocks.
where did u get the key because i didnt get one?

I found it right at the beginning of the tunnel very near to where your scouts are standing outside. The key was on a lootable corpse there.

Agreed, it's annoying not knowing what the hell is going om when you come to points like this

To be more specific, the war table mission is called Red Templars on the Storm Coast, and appears to only show up after you've completed Red Templars in the Emprise de Lion area.

I got it to pop after something in the Western Approach, I think. I've unlocked Emprise du Lion but never actually traveled there, so there must be something else at work.
Actually, come to think of it, doing the first part of Here Lies the Abyss (meeting Stroud in Crestwood) might do it. That's as far as I've gotten on that quest, and I haven't touched Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts.
ETA: The guide is supremely unhelpful here. It says that Varric's personal plot must be completed, but if "personal plot" means Seeing Red, then that's certainly false, and I haven't done the other one (which happens in Valammar), so I don't know what the guide is on about...
The Red Templar Key used to open the locked door on the Storm Coast is found on the corpses on the templars killed or rather this time the corpses look like animal kills instead of bags.
I found mine between the two ships in the area between the two caves.
Okay, how are we supposed to cross the broken bridge after planting a flag? I got no mention of the Inquisition building one like at the Western Approach.
Update: Son of a ....there's a side entrance at the corner before you approach the bridge. It's hidden in darkness.
I hate having to leave areas with unfinished quests, but i also gathered it wold be a chain quest to gain entrance which was annoying seeing as you can get the seeing red side mission so early on in the game. But it was also relevant given varric's past with red lyrium and seeing it so early in the game in inquisition kinda propted the need to get the mission plus you can destroy some in hinterlands so you do need the mission early on for that reason alone
! Hope you've all got it sorted now, and happy hunting of said red lyrium!! and btw inqusition was never meant to be open world, was always map/destination plots always has been, fun times
. Loving the new scale of maps much fun, many hours scouring about finding "Everything" hopefully ;o. Anyways thanks to dutchess36 for the solid info on resolving the annoyance of many no doubt haha! have fun
See you @ the next point of stuckness during a quest or two no doubt ![]()
for the record you dont need the lyrium in there to finish varricks quest.. there more then enough red lyrium elsewhere on other maps to finish his quest.
