Like, I totally understand not everyone liked them, but not everyone liked all of the Origins companions either (speaking of, no Zevran makes me sad). To me, Dragon Age has always been about the characters. It seems silly to me that they're disregarded entirely with every new sequel. It's like Bioware doesn't understand what draws us to these games in the first place.
Is anyone else disappointed that none of the DA2 companions are in it?

We got varric as a full companion. Were you expecting more? They may not be in the game but they do get mentioned.

I'm surprised they have no cameos.
I'm glad, though. Everyone appearing for no real reason just made it seem small. The cameos for this game seem limited to characters that we knew would be in Orlais and Ferelden..

Hawke and Varric as returning characters are enough. They are all minor players if you compared to the big named companions in DAI.

For me personally, I just can't get into the DA world without its characters providing context and connection. And we all have our faves. I didn't expect anything huge, no, but a line of passing dialogue? It's cheap. It makes me feel like my emotional investment in these games doesn't matter.

Aveline and Isabella ... Isabella was in the first two games, she should have been in this game as well.

Well you apparently are one of those who didn't care much about them, seeing how one of the DA2 party members is also a party member in DA3.

I like the people saying the DA2 companions were 'crap'. Because as everyone knows, Zevran was much more fleshed out and interesting than Aveline. ![]()
Just because the game recieved low scores doesn't mean you have to hate everything about it on principle. Sure, Merrill, Fenris and Sebastian were boring, but everyone else was decent imo (including Anders up until he became a Linkin Park fan in Act 3 and, well, the Chantry bit). Aveline became one of my favourite characters from video games, ever, actually; so rare to see a strong female character that isn't rolled in make up or traditionally beautiful.

I hate DA2, but some of my favorite companions are from that game. Varric and Isabela are great in my book.

Dragon Age had no old characters, you liked those no? How would you meet a new Zevran if they keep serving up an old Oghren?

Well, Varric was my favourite in DA2, so Im not too disappointed. But i liked the feel of him fighting and shooting in DA2 much more then in DAI
