It would be very poor marketing, actually.  Most people will buy one thing or the other, but not both things.  Seeing as ME2 is a much more anticipated release than RtO, I expect most people would let the DLC fall by the wayside for a few months.  Not me, as I have yet to even play the original ME--but I am not most gamers.

Whoa, whoa, don't get over excited about the 26th now. I merely read someone say that once. They said it had a release date of 26th in the details, but this was obviously not true as Graciemae got the same thing and says it's stated as the 5th. This person was probably just taking advantage of the fact that people were getting RtO in available contents in order to make up a rumor.

There have been a lot of people bitten by this particular bug. People buy points. RtO seems to be available. They go to download it. "Something" downloads - but they receive nothing and their points end up at zero. Strange things are afoot in the Circle K - but it's been this way for a fortnight or more.

This happened to me as well. Download, bought points, 0%. However, RtO shows up in my registered game promotions in my account, so I'm going to wait until it's actually released to see if it automatically downloads. Its still there in the DLC page though, saying ti costs 400 points.

I haven't even played the original Mass Effect, but it's sort of a shooter hybrid.  I'm not big on sci-fi stuff (gasp!) so much as I am fantasy, and I'm not big on shooters, either.  I guess I should try the original, at least, since everyone here swears it's awesome.  Then if I like it I'll join the rest of you on the ME2 board.  Eventually.

If you play RPGs for the characters and the story, definitely get ME. I'm not a big sci-fi or shooter fan either, but ME is hands down the best game with the best story that I ever played.

I had almost the exact same situation--RtO showed up as available on Sunday with all the details and a 05 Jan release date, I had points already so I clicked on download, it stuck at zero, and now it still shows up as available but my points balance is zero and it shows up as a registered content item in the list online. I've sent an e-mail to Bioware customer service (before I thought to check whether the DLC showed up in my online authorized content list) and I'll see what happens...hopefully it will automagically download once it's really released.

Since ME2 releases tomorrow, and Tuesday is typically the release date for many videogames, I'm betting on a Feb 2nd release for RtO if it doesn't show up "for real" in the AM.

And just to confirm--I'm playing on PC, and I did not obtain RtO through any other "unusual" channel...I must have just checked the servers at the right wrong time.

The same thing happened to me as well. I went to the DA Customer Support link at the bottom of the page in the help section, and after going back and forth a few times they refunded my points. It still shows up as available for purchase but at least I have my points back.

I don't get this at all really. We've been waiting 20 days since the 'release', I think people would just like some sort of 'it'll be here within the next week', or, alternatively, 'it won't be here within the next week'. Just some sort of communication! Anything BW?
