I found in character creation that sometimes the character is shown only in full profile which makes customizing hard to do. The only workaround was exit the game and try again. Then mostly I can get a full frontal face view.
And a couple of creation tips.
1. In the Customize menu, always set Lip Shine to 0. Otherwise every character looks like (s)he has really slathered on the lip gloss.
2. In the Options, set the Mesh to High. Makes everything looks way better on the PC.
