I'm in the US, but I'm exercising some caution here.  After years of playing MMOs, I've gotten into the habit of not playing any game the day it comes out.  Sure, this isn't a MMO, but it's going to be subject to a lot of the same feedback and bug patches.  My graphics driver is also in beta, which could affect things as well.   So, I've decided to hold off playing the game for a day or two.  I figure that a few days of waiting now might save me a whole lot of frustration later.

 

I'm still quite enthusiastic about the game, and reading about the bugs hasn't tempered that.  It has slowed me down from playing for a bit.  Anyone else currently own the game, and decided to just hang back for a few days?

I VPN'd it...really wishing I just stuck with the EU date at this point. I've now thrown seven hours into a playthrough just for it to be borked by infuriating bugs.

Repair the game after the install, and check your graphic drivers for updates before you play.   Make sure to reboot your box after you're done.  From what I've been reading, that will help save you some time and trouble later.

I haven't run into any game breaking bugs yet, thankfully.

But yeah, if the worst comes to the worst, I'll just replay the game from the very beginning which I plan on doing anyway.

The only time I'll wait to play a game is for its price to drop.

 Well, this isn't easy for me, but wisdom has taught me to give myself some time.   I'm playing FFIX to tide me over.

Right now conversations/cutscenes are stuttering for me on PC and havent been able to fix it yet, also reading those on consoles are having similar problems so im a bit worried its not an easy fix, which is horrible because thats such a huge part of DA/Bioware games =/

That's my strategy. I don't delve into my first "serious" playthrough until I'm reasonably assured I'll have a good experience.

I actually received my copy on the 18th in Australia (2 days early) but my local pc shop has been taking forever upgrading my pc so I've got the game but can't play it! Garr... so no, if I had my computer I'd be playing it (assuming it's playable and I don't encounter all these bugs people are getting)
