Uhh yeah every command at my finger tips... like a MF concert pianist. Know who you are talking to thanks. Attack me personally if you like but in a 1000 years you will not be right. Your lack of adaptation shows your skillset. So yeah dumbing it down to make it feel less overwhelming isn't a concern for me. Like I said controller is playable...more than origins I'd say, but no wayyy near the end of experience. No hud, every skill. GEEET SUM

I am clearly talking to a badass. I'd much rather focus on the game than playing a game like a piano. Also saying "GEEET SUM" to wrap up your argument shows me your maturity level and writing skills.

I still love you. If you want to play the ego trip I'm well versed was my point. I say it's better because I got 20 years to back it up... and a controller sitting right here if I needed one. Your argument didn't make any sense. No harm or foul. Should still look up my control scheme. It's a big bright world of dominance.

I really like'd the way I controlled DAO and DA2 with the mouse. I could just sit/lay down and right click on the ground to move around, and right click a foe to attack. Now I have to use an xbox controller (razer onza) to play DAI because I hate to use the keyboard..

Well, it is NOT a mouse game, it is a mouse AND keyboard game. Obviously if you have a gaming mouse with enough buttons, you can bind the keyboard controls to that instead but, if not, you are supposed to use both, as with every PC game I have played.

I suppose it would take some getting used to if you have been a console gamer but, for me, having tried a console about 15 years ago and hating the controller, it was simply a matter of reviewing the keybindings and, changing a few to suit me, and good to go. Sure there is room for improvement, but the controls for KB+M are not entirely horrid.

BjornH is correct you could play the game with just the mouse in DA:O. You would have to screen pick everything that wasn't on the mouse but it didn't feel un-natural. I actually did if I was eating doritos or taking my herbal medicine. With the welcomed addition of 3rd person it would be very difficult, but not impossible, as you can still play pure tactical without issue and every command is still available through screen pick. The only time you'd be limited is in town or other area where tactical is not available. In that respect you're not actually fighting except where the tutorial is concerned.

I personally love the mouse + keyboard combo, even though I would like to bind some functions to my mouse buttons. I definitely wouldn't want to play DAI by using the mouse only; click -> go here, click -> go there... ugh. Most games I've played have used the w,s,a,d -buttons for movement and the mouse for the rest and that suits me. The mouse button down camera movement took a bit of getting used to but I'm fine with it now (though, the cursor disappearing every now and then during fights is still slightly annoying but a different issue also). I have never ever even considered buying a controller for my PC, since I hate them. I do actually also have a xbox but I rarely use it and it just keeps gathering dust.

Chardonney, I agree, controlers are horrible for me too. Perhaps because I was gaming on a PC back when a Comodore 64 was a top of the line computer. Wrote a few MUDs, even a couple of games in basic and, 3 in FourTran, One in Cobal. Then I go lazy and didn't learn C++ but, I suppose i could, if I really wanted to get into writing my own. I do CGI animation as a hobby, so, I think with a few months to nail down C++ I could manage writing a game again.

Controlers just don't feel as natural as KB+M to me. I have owned an Atari, PS4, XBox 360 and, now XBox One but, those have always been and still are for my kids and grand kids, I hate playing on them so, my games are all the PC versions.

Rebinding the pause to C instead of CTRL helped me a great deal. I tried rebinding jump to c and pause to the space bar, but I find that I've got to jump a lot more often than I have to pause, so.

you can bind mouse functions by changing the buttons to unused keys from your keyboard. I use the keys from the right side of my keyboard and program them into my mouse. That simple.

I started with Amiga500, myself.  :)  But yes, keyboard and mouse do feel natural, so I won't give them up for anything. Last time I tried my xbox was... hmm... a long while ago and that session lasted about 15 minutes. It's not for me and I always grit my teeth, when someone suggests buying a controller as a fix to a problem.

After finishing 2 playthroughs, i can say that the PC controls suck even after rebinding. The hold down mouse button with clickable hud interferes with each other as you may not know why the mouse is not responding (mouse position at hud control). If the characters weren't as good and having an interesting story, i would have dumped this game asap. If they do another one i hope they actually think about MMI

I've to admit I don't understand the unhappiness with the PC controls. I used the default key bindings btw. To me, DAI is not as tough as a online FPS, like the classic Unreal Tournament '99 which presented the ultimate challenge to the PC user due to the numerous weapons, the translocator, and the requirement to have  fast reflexes and tactical response. I put up UT'99 as an example because at that time, one had to adapt by finding the best key bindings, a good mouse and make it work. From the legions of players who battled it out in the arenas back then, I'd say they did and enjoyed the game.
