What is the max amount of skills/abilities you can achieve in DAI?

So, in past games, like DA2, you could only really fill up two full trees for your characters. Same with DAO unless you used some exploits. How is it in DAI? I know they said there is no max level cap, so does that mean you could get all skills for your class? Or has anyone beat the game so far, and can tell us how many skill trees you filled?

There is no max level cap technically but there is a soft level cap at level 30. That means that after that you'll find it really hard to gain experience from anything since enemies do not scale to your level. 30 levels is around 30 skill points, so I think we'll have enough to fill at least two trees.

I wonder how that will work with an 8 slot limit.

That makes sense. Each tree has about 11-13 skills to get. So looks like I'll be focusing on two skill trees. I wish I could do more. At least they let you purchase that amulet that lets you reorganize your points.

Something I noticed is that about all skill trees have about 5 abilities, with the rest being passive upgrades, meaning that at the very, very least, our ability slot should have 10 open slots, 5 for an skill and 5 for an specialization. This restriction is just ridiculous.

Yeah for PS4 or Xbox it's limited...but a bit better than DAO and DA2 with those extra two slots. So I'm a bit happy. Gonna have to be very picky about what I choose.

Not really. You won't have the mana/stamina to use so many abilities. And the idea I believe is to switch out abilities depending on what your encountering. It seems like at high levels it will be better to collect a bunch of passive skills since your skill bar will be full and you'll have far more skills than you have mana/stamina to use.

What I liked about DAO and DA2 is you could quickly choose those other skills through your menu wheel...but in DAI I don't see a quick way to select those right now.

So my question is...can you still level up even if its EXTREMELY SLOW? I mean, killing creatures for little xp is still some xp right?

As you gain levels, enemies that are multible levels below you will give you less and eventually NO XP. My guess is that after that the way to gain xp would be through questing rather than fighting.

I have managed to pick up an item in the Hinterlands that give you an extra skill point. I bet there will be more in the rest of the game. Companions seem to get their own specific versions of this item through quests that gives them a free skill point as well.

At least they added that amulet at the blacksmith that lets you reorganize it all... once for cheap, and unlimited for lots of money.
