Is there any way to do this?  x.x

Maybe I just didn't notice as much in the first two games because I played stabby rogues and had to position myself correctly before acting, but now I have a Qunari warrior in SP and wound up tanking for my friends in MP.  In both cases, there are instances where an enemy moves to the side (usually SP, often when knocked down) or I get surrounded (tanking in MP), and being able to step backwards is all I need to maintain position.  But I can't.  It's less of an issue in SP, since we bash faces anyway, but in MP sometimes it means taking big damage to the back of the head since I don't yet have the skill that makes it so you can't be flanked.  And in any case, if I'm supposed to build aggro, presumably that means some amount of hitting the enemies, which is also harder when I can't step back.

Incredibly, Google gave me nothing when I searched, so either this is simply an accepted part of the game or I'm a moron and everyone figured this out without help.  But the friends I'm tanking for couldn't figure it out either, so at least I won't be a moron on my own.

You have to press shift on PC to target an specific enemy, I don't know the button on console.
