Go to Redcliffe, so you can speak to Fiona. You don't have to complete Champions of the Just, which is the Templar quest.

Thank god I thought I was going to have to reload. Is there an easyer way to get to redcliffe then trying to run past that dragon? its not on the war table map so I guess I have find another way through the hinterlands :/

Disbanding the Templars felt good.

Ahh just wait till the ending!

:,)

Seeing the Order reborn is beautiful.

Course it also means that the choice was pointless but ah well.

I'm pretty sure it's that locked gate that you initially can't go through cause there is someone guarding it. Have you already met Fiona in Val Royeaux?

You can do that for both the mages and templars. Theres both a support and "punish" time option to gaining either of them as allies.

I'm really happy about this since you now have a lot more choice in how you handle the mage vs templar war then you did in DA 2.

And yes, which side you choose and how you treat them are both important to the story and will be reflected in consequences latter on.

You never really made any choice in DA2. You either choose to kill Orsino and then Meredith or choose to kill Orsino and then Meredith.

Killing Orsino, then Meredith, seemed like the right way to go.

Just played through the mage side, and Holy Friggin INTENSE!!! :o  Granted it is the E3 Demo, but its nice to see to its conclusion. I knew something was amiss back in E3, especially when the option "We can still help him" propped up after defeating Alexius. And weren't there already time travel speculations way back when the E3 trailer was first revealed?

And Leliana's face  :o  :o  :o

And seeing your other 2 companions is just  :(

Dat Soundtrack tho  B)

(Still not making the mages my equals, even though i'm playing a mage, especially after all the crap they pulled)

As someone who had to reroll and tried both - I advice you to side with the Templars (minimum spoilers):

1) The mage/venatori are easier to fight than the templars, if you are playing on hard ++ keep this in mind.
2) The templar quest is waaaaaaaaaaay better when it comes to story.

Sided with the mages, but I have only conscripted them, because the alliance option resulted in negative reputation of many of my party members.

Eh, I felt the mage story was better but this is all very subjective.

I chose the mages, because I so didn't like what Alexius was up to. I knew it had a big part in the story somehow.

Well mages obviously, the Inquisition already has mundane soldiers.

Took the mages as prisoners. The situation in Redcliffe seemed a lot more dire, and I couldn't find out more about the Templars without committing.

I like both sides, and particularly both factions quests were very, very good. Picked Mage though, cause I wanted to hang out with Dorian a lot and I wanted Rhys and Evangeline. That said, the envy demon quest looks soooooooooo good too. The Templar side looks just as inviting.

Is it possible to get some Templars onto your side even though you side with the Mages? Not the whole Order, but like a garrison or something?

I know that many mage supporters dislike the Templars, but I always found that if any Chantry order was shady it was the Seekers.

Saved as many mages as I could in the Hinterlands before I started Champions of the Just(making suret hey either left Fionas group or joined the Inquistion so any people left where idiots who believed Tevinters lies). Not all templars are bad and that quest pretty much showed it.

Can you do the inverse of this? Save as many Templars as you can before fully siding with the Mages?

And for anyone who did the Mage Questline, did it portray them in a favorable light compared to Dragon Age2?

I'll be siding with the mages on my next playthrough so I can see how it plays out and to spend more time with Dorian.

I can't compare them yet, but
