I keep making upgrades but I cant figure out of to add them to armour

I only played a few hours but I hadn't even figured out how to use the upgrades yet.

There is a separate station/table for it.  I think it's the "modify" table you want. If I'm understanding your problem.

Create the upgrade at the Craft Armor and Craft Weapons tables. Then, once you've crafted the upgrades you want, go to the Upgrade Armor or Upgrade Weapons table. You can then scroll through the weapons you have, choose the slot you want to modify, then add the upgrade you crafted.

I've modified mine, but i can't figure out how to modify Bianca-i made the upgrades, but they don't show in my inventory so i can put them on Varric's lovely lady.

Iirc, on the top right you can cycle through companion characters to access their equipped items. Bianca won't show initially because it only shows the weapons/armor that main character has and/or can use. When switching to Varric will Bianca then show.

 

Essentially, on the craft Armor\Weapon station make the upgrade item. Then on the modify station, Select the weapon\armor, select the slot, select which upgrade to add\remove, confirm.

Worth noting despite being off topic is that in Haven, there's a.. dangly thing.. right there on the right hand side of the smithy that sells respec amulets.

Question: if I upgrade a weapon or armour can I take out the component again and reuse it on something else? Also, once I upgrade a weapon or armour, can I upgrade it again?

Yes for Upgrades....No for Runes.

Is the craft the one where the lady is a Theirn Loghain apologist? And the modify/create the ones side by side that are tended two by blacksmiths?

 

I'm in the dark here too; also still searching for the log thing; I have the 5 irons for the requisition sword that you get at the start.  Haven't been out of the Hinterlands yet, so maybe it isn't there.

No, the quartermaster (Loghain apologist) is a separate system completely. The crafting and upgrade tables for armor and weapons are both at the blacksmith (Haven); the upgrade tables are in the very middle and the crafting tables are on either side of them.

Alright, thanks, I guess I missed them completely, or I'm missing recipes/material still.
