While I am sure there are plenty of players who are fine, I am really disappointed in the PC controls for this game.

 

In the interest of moving forward while the other threads are around for people to vent their frustration - who has some suggestions that have worked for them in terms of rebinding keys?

I personally put the 'search' ping on 'C' as my left thumb could more easily reach.

 

I also put pause on 'Caps Lock' as reaching Ctrl was just not working for me either.

 

Any other thoughts to make our lives slightly better?

I moved search to shift since apparently this game is determined to wear that key out on my keyboard and that one is conveniently located (seriously, the search ping is one of my biggest gripes, dumb dumb dumb).  I also moved gallop (sprint) to "c" so it's somewhat convenient as I use it, but not the endless spam like the search ping.

 

I haven't remapped pause, but I can't tell you how much inadvertent jumping I did in the first 2 hours because I'm used to spacebar being the pause button in DA games. 

 

I'm loving the game so far, but the controls are easily in my top 5 worst console ports that I've personally played.

I put 'loot search' on tab (like I've had it on other games)

 

Jump on B

 

Pause on space bar

 

Swapped Camera Move and Move (A/d for Q/e)

 

And flipped my mouse button controls.

Jump on X (like the lightsaber flourish in KotOR)

 

Rotate Target to Q.

 

Interact to E (like ME)

 

Left strafing unmapped

• Moved strafe to A and D didn't rebind the move camera, I can use the mouse for that.
• then I rebound Q and E to the action bar for easy spells.
• Move pause to Space and jump to Alt.
• Made ping my mouse 4 button by making my mouse 4 the V button in the program.

My "Herb Scanner" is bound the middle mouse button so i can rapidly tap it while running around the world.

 

I got rid of the A/D camera turning in favor of full WASD movement.

 

Alt is my pause time button, separate button for Tac Camera isn't necessary when you can use the mouse wheel to zoom all the way out.
